Space Odyssey. Part 1
Krash and Chiko go to Pin, who finishes building the rocket and prepares to take off. He had no connection with Bibi for a while and wants to see if he's okay. Krash and Chiko also want to fly, but Pin refuses to let them in. The rocket goes into orbit, but suddenly the on-board computer says that the maximum weight has increased, and the rocket cannot fly higher. Pin is horrified to learn that Krash and Chiko somehow got inside.
Pin is very upset because now they don't have enough fuel to fly to the moon. He is about to return the rocket to earth, but Krash suddenly notices that they approach asteroids. Pin takes back the control of the rocket and maneuvers around them. Suddenly, when it seems like they made it in one piece, the last asteroid arrives from the sun's direction and crashes into the rocket.
Space Odyssey. Part 2
The rocket is filled with smoke. After regaining consciousness and cleaning the cabin, Pin asks the on-board computer about the damage. He finds out that the engine is broken and sends an SOS signal. A small green dot appears on the side of the moon.
Krash asks if it's possible for them to repair the engine on their own, in case nobody comes to help them. Pin puts on a spacesuit and goes into outer space to try to do just that. Suddenly, a sharp fragment cuts his oxygen hose. Pin rushes to the hatch, but the on-board computer refuses to open it due to overload. Pin loses consciousness from a lack of oxygen and begins to swim away from the rocket. Krash and Chiko demand to start the engines, but the computer still refuses. Suddenly, the rocket takes off and flies up to Pin. Turns out that Bibi heard the signal and arrived to aid them.
Pin wakes up when the rocket is already landing. Krash and Chico tell him that Bibi saved them, took photo of them while Pin was unconscious and returned to space. The lander lands right in Pin’s hangar.
Tropes:
- 2D Visuals, 3D Effects: All asteroids and the rocket (though only in parts where it has to dodge said asteroids) are drawn with 3D graphics.
- Almost Out of Oxygen: Pin damages his oxygen hose while trying to repair rocket's engine, and almost dies from suffocation. Fortunately, Bibi manages to save his father.
- Asteroid Thicket: The rocket hits the asteroid belt right on Earth's orbit.
- Dramatic Space Drifting: Having spent all the oxygen, Pin begins to float away from the rocket into outer space.
- In Space, Everyone Can See Your Face: Pin has a large transparent helmet in his spacesuit.
- Previously on…: The second part begins with a summary of the previous part.
- Shout-Out: The title of the episode is a reference to the film Film/2001ASpaceOdyssey.
- Space Episode: Most of the episode takes place in space.
- Space Is Noisy: Bibi's sounds can be heard very well in space.
- Space Friction: After hitting the asteroid, the rocket immediately stops.
- Unexpectedly Dark Episode: This is the first time when the characters are put in real danger. Case in point, Pin almost dies from suffocation.
