- Disaster Dominoes: Stumpy invokes this trope when he needs to be put in danger by throwing a pebble and saying his luck should take care of the rest. Sure enough, a chain reaction takes place and he is almost crushed to death by a giant boulder.
- Everything Trying to Kill You: Stumpy demonstrates how bad his luck is by tossing a pebble, which leads to a series of Disaster Dominoes which almost kills him.
- It Always Rains at Funerals: It rains at the funeral.
- Noodle Incident: This little exchange after Mr. Cat explains the concept of a funeral to Stumpy:Stumpy: Wow, you really do know a lot about funerals!
Mr. Cat: (sadly) A bit too much, Stumpy... - Pet the Dog: Mr. Cat decides not to hurt Quack Quack and gives him a new pot of yogurt as a present.
- Series Fauxnale: This was intended to be the series finale, but the show was renewed for another season.
- Winged Soul Flies Off at Death: After the funeral, Yogo's soul flies off.
- You Called Me "X"; It Must Be Serious: When Mr. Cat is discussing what is heavily implied to be the death of one or more of his loved ones before his arrival in Smileyland, he calls Stumpy by his real name rather than a nickname.
