Recap / Kaeloo S 1 E 17 Lets Play Peace Man

Go To

The main four try to play a game where the first person to get angry loses.

"Let's Play Peace, Man!" contains the following tropes:

  • Appendage Assimilation: Quack Quack pulls a new head out of a suitcase and attaches it to his body after Mr. Cat blows off the old one with a bazooka.
  • Cluster Bleep-Bomb: Mr. Cat tries to yell a profanity-laced speech, but his microphone malfunctions, resulting in all swear words being "bleeped" out. The audience doesn't hear it, but Kaeloo and Quack Quack are horrified by what they've heard. It's quite easy to make out the words since only parts of them are bleeped out:
Mr. Cat: Stupid f*cking idiot! Godd*mn duck! Pile of ***! One more time and I'll break your b***!
  • Dramatically Missing the Point: Kaeloo forces several kisses on Mr. Cat offscreen and she thinks it's okay because "kissing isn't violent". She tries to explain this to Mr. Cat... who is sitting in Troubled Fetal Position with a disturbed facial expression, clearly feeling violated.
  • Forceful Kiss: Bad Kaeloo forces a kiss on Mr. Cat, which traumatizes him. Even though Mr. Cat has a massive crush on Kaeloo, he's still quite disturbed by her kissing him because it was non-consensual.
  • Infernal Background: When Mr. Cat threateningly says "You'll know it when I get angry..." the background bursts into flames.
  • Mondegreen Gag: When Kaeloo tells Stumpy that if he tried to be peaceful he could win the Nobel Peace Prize, he thinks she said "Frozen Peas Prize" and points out that he eats acorns, not frozen peas.
  • Karma Houdini: Kaeloo essentially gets away with sexually harassing Mr. Cat.
  • Sound-Effect Bleep: Mr. Cat drops what seems to be a Cluster F-Bomb over a microphone, but the microphone keeps malfunctioning. Given Kaeloo and Quack Quack's horrified reactions, it's safe to assume that even if the audience didn't hear anything, they did.
  • Thousand-Yard Stare: A downplayed example. After Kaeloo forcibly kisses Mr. Cat, he sits under a tree and stares into the distance. A few minutes later, he recovers after she asks him if they can do it again, and his expression shifts to one of sheer horror.
  • Troubled Fetal Position: Mr. Cat assumes this position after Kaeloo forces a kiss on him.
