The Bus Came Back: Hawkes is back, under Mr. Kon's employ this time.
Comically Missing the Point: When Kenji mentions how his father is surrounded by shady people, Mae gently encourages him to realize what that means. Kenji just concludes that his father is a Horrible Judge of Character.
The Ditherer: Sammy is having trouble figuring out whether to condemn Kenji like Ben and Yaz or to forgive him like Brooklynn has, and switches sides often. Darius, on the other hand, refuses to think about it until the current crisis is over.
Only Sane Man: Darius is the only kid to not get sucked into the campers’ argument whether or not to hate Kenji for betraying them.
Punch-Clock Villain: Hawkes doesn't seem to be the least bit conflicted about working with Kenji this time, saying that his hostility before was just because of his mission and now he has a new one. Kenji isn't convinced.
Sewer Gator: The Nothosaurus is hiding in the sewers and has a gator-like shape and texture to it.
Summon Bigger Fish: Caught between a BRAD-X and a Nothosaurus, the kids lure them into fighting each other. Unfortunately, said fight damages the power source underground, and the earth begins to shake.
Wrong Genre Savvy: While we know Mr. Kon is the Big Bad, Mae trying to gently encourage Kenji to see this only leads him to believe his father is surrounded by horrible people because he's one of those overly trusting types.
