After the kids discover that Mitch and Tiff are actually trophy hunters who came to the island to kill the dinosaurs, Hap helps Brooklyn, Ben and Kenji get to the hunters' boat while evading the Baryonyx pack. Meanwhile, Darius and Sammy are being held hostage by the hunters and are secretly leading them towards the T. Rex lair in hopes of an escape.
- An Offer You Can't Refuse: Mitch and Tiffany give Darius one: take them to the watering hole… or they’ll ditch the campers on the island.
- Bear Trap: Darius finds one in Hap’s yurt… along with other hunting equipment.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Rather than eco-tourists and photographers, Mitch and Tiffany turn out to be big-game hunters who lied to the campers, and intend to use Darius’ knowledge to hunt the dinosaurs for sport before ditching the campers on the island.
- Creepy Souvenir: Darius finds the head of a baby Sinoceratops in Hap’s yurt, presumably the victim of a previous hunt.
- Evil Poacher: Mitch and Tiffany turn out to be this. Isla Nublar has been quarantined by the UN, essentially making their hunt completely illegal… and they intend to blackmail Darius into helping them.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Hap ends up doing this to save the kids from the the pursuing Baryonyx pack.
- I Am Not Left-Handed: Yaz feigns that her ankle is still very much on the mend to stall Mitch and Tiffany. Darius gives her a couple pages from his dinosaur journal and tells her to run… and as Yaz runs, her makeshift cast breaks away and she speeds up, showing she’s completely healed.
- Noodle Incident: While Hap and Ben are showing off old scars and mentioning past incidents, Brooklynn mentions she punched a hammerhead shark in Hawaii. Later, she admits it was more of a lucky blow while she was flailing in panic, but the audience never learns anything more about it.
- Not Evil, Just Misunderstood: It turns out Hap is this. His attitude is due to a desperate attempt to get the campers off the island before Mitch and Tiffany try to exploit them and ditch them on Isla Nublar.
- Taxidermy Is Creepy: Mitch displays an unsettling desire to “preserve” the dinosaurs he hunts, allowing them to “live forever”… as heads mounted on his wall.
