Adam the VIRGO

"Yes, friends, that Jane, as in the girl he'd almost married when he was 19. So, can you blame him for thinking that was a sign? And, you know, our Adam loved signs."
Latina Lover Narrator

When Jane is reunited with her first love, she's happy to see him, but Xo and Alba are not thrilled about his return; Rafael finds himself at Jane's house, broke and homeless; Darci interrupts Xo and Rogelio's wedded bliss.

Tropes in this Episode:

  • Bait-and-Switch: Adam the VIRgo
  • Diegetic Soundtrack Usage: The gentle guitar melody that plays during the show's romantic moments turns out to have been composed by Adam for Jane, and he plays it for her in this episode. Lampshaded by the narrator.
Narrator: Oh my god! He's playing her love cue!
  • Fanservice: Adam and Jane go skinny dipping. Later on, Rafael is taking a shower.
  • Kick the Dog: Almost literally exploited by Rogelio. He threatens to upload a video of Darci accidentally punching a puppy on the set of their show if she continues to withhold his custody rights, knowing that it will destroy her reputation. She folds quickly.
  • Lemony Narrator: The Latin Lover Narrator as usual, but now he's joined by the Latina Lover Narrator who always tries to move the focus to Adam.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Rogelio swallowing his pride and accepting Darci's criticisms for the sake of getting along.
  • The Other Darrin: The child actor who played Mateo has changed, which is lampshaded by the Latin Lover Narrator.invoked
  • Spear Counterpart: The Latina Lover Narrator to the main Latin Lover Narrator. She's a woman who narrates Adam's story.
  • Those Two Guys: Weirdly, the narrators act as this in this episode, often reacting with exasperation at the characters or each other's narrating styles.
  • Twin Switch: Petra again impersonates Anezka.
Narrator: Look, it's a long story, but she's a twin and they often do this thing where they switch places.
