Recap / Jackie Chan Adventures S 4 E 12 The J Tots

Go To

Chang assembles an Anti J-Team.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Acrofatic: Jackie's counterpart Tommy Chung is in his own words, "chubby", but can move and hit fast.
  • Brawn Hilda: Tohru's counterpart Helga.
  • Big Stupid Doo Doo Head: Kid Jackie refers to Chang as "Mr. Poopyhead" and "Mr. Doodyface".
  • Evil Counterpart: The team Chang puts together. A master thief for Viper, an American wrestler for El Toro, the world's strongest woman for Tohru, and a martial artist on China's Most Wanted for Jackie.
  • Hoax Hogan: American pro wrestler Bob "The Bopper" Halfcock, El Toro's counterpart, bares a striking resemblance to Hulk Hogan.
  • Kissing In A Tree: Kid Viper sings this about Jade and Paco.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Jade's grow up spell turns all the adults into toddlers. Though she uses it to her advantage by doing the same thing to Chang's group.
  • Running Gag: Subverted with Tohru falling down stairs/rolling down a hill. This time Tohru gets someone else to fall down stairs, namely his criminal counterpart Helga.
  • Series Continuity Error:
    • Tohru refuses to fight Helga because she's a woman and he doesn't fight women. Earlier episodes contradict this, since Tohru tried to cut the rooster talisman out of Jade in "The Power Within" and tried to fight Viper's clone in "Attack of the J-Clones". Though this can be handwaved, since Tohru didn't fight Jade per se and Viper's clone is technically not a real person.
    • Viper mentions that she robbed the Louvre back when she was a thief. Yet in "Origami", she said she'd planned for years to rob the Louvre but never actually did it.
  • Skewed Priorities: Kid Uncle wants ice cream before he turns everyone back to normal.
  • Take That, Audience!: When he sees video footage of The Bopper performing his Bopper's Bash signature move, El Toro is somewhat shaken at first, but then regains himself saying "Everyone knows American wrestling is fake.".
  • World's Strongest Man: Tohru's counterpart is Helga Sorenson, the world's strongest woman, who is shown to be even stronger than the world's strongest man.
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl: Tohru doesn't fight women. He tries fighting Crane and The Bopper, only for Viper and El Toro to take them on.
  • You Are Grounded!: Jade taunts Chang with this. Jackie points out its not just Chang. Jade turns it back on him.
Jackie: Chang is not the only one who is grounded.
Jade: I know you are, but what am I?
