Main Story

    Prologue
Once upon a time, a human named Frisk fell into the Underground from Mount Ebott, who met Flowey the Flower, and tried to take their SOUL, for in the Underground, "it's kill or be killed". However, Frisk refused to kill anyone, even when faced with relentless murderers like Undyne and Asgore. In spite of everything, they showed kindness and MERCY, even to Flowey himself. However, the flower used this to his advantage, and by using the human to gather every monster in one place and take their SOULs, Flowey became a god and overpowered Frisk, allowing him to reset the timeline. However, something went wrong in the process, and the Lost Soul's fates were inverted, while Flowey himself found himself without his powers, and the human without the player to guide them.

    Ruins

Chapter 1: "Friendly" Neighborhood Flowey

Frisk finds themself alive after falling down a hole in Mount Ebott. Wandering past a stone door, they run into Flowey, who still remembers everything that happens from the previous timeline. Realizing that the human doesn't remember what happened, Flowey takes the opportunity to introduce themselves after Frisk tries smelling and then flirting with him. After a tutorial in which Flowey explains to them how to dodge, he leaves after hearing someone coming. It turns out to be a large goat man in a hood who calls himself Asgore, guardian of the Ruins. Seeing them hurt, he decides to take them to their house. Now inside, Frisk sees the many golden flowers growing within the Ruins by Asgore, but when they start to mention Flowey, he shows up behind them and asks them not to mention him, saying to meet him by the candy bowl. Finding one puzzle already solved thanks to vines, Asgore explains how puzzles are a tradition of monsterkind before explaining in the next room how he removed more dangerous ones for safety reasons. As they look around, the it is revealed that the human is aware of the narrator's comments. In the next room, Asgore warns them of hostile monster and decides to teach them how to fight. However, the training dummy is missing. Instead is a ghost with headphones named Napstablook, whom Asgore then suggests the human makes friends with. The human, noticing the ghost to having low self esteem, decides to cheer them on.

Chapter 2: I Ain't Afraid of No Ghost

Encountering Napstablook, the human hums and dances to the song Napstablook is playing, with monsters cheering them on in the background. After the performance, Asgore and the human continue their journey through the Ruins, where they encounter talking flowers called Echo Flowers, which has a recording of Napstablook with another person talking about leaving and "revitalize the Ruins". While on the way back, Asgore remembers that he's low on supplies and needs to go shop. The human is then reminded by the narrator that Flowey is still waiting for them, so they ask Asgore if they could continue exploring, and Asgore agrees, but not before handing a phone to them. Now on their own, they come across Napstablook again. Napstablook then invites the human to sit down with them and watch TV, which was airing his cousin's show. Napstablook then reveals that despite his cousin's love of humans, he's also an anti-human weapon. Napstablook then goes on to explain that the monsters outside the Ruins are a lot more unhappy and desperately seek the Human's SOUL.

Chapter 3A: Trussst In Me~ Just In Me~

While Frisk is out of sight, an angry Flowey contemplates about his next step in this strange, new world. Although Asgore is probably still the same old jolly goat monster, still "Dad", Flowey decides to stay out of his sight for now. After all, he still has certain ways to tip the odds in his favor...

Papyrus receives a phone call from Mettaton, apologizing for separating him from Frisk and their efforts to keep them safe failing. Papyrus is upset that he couldn't make Frisk and Undyne friends, while Mettaton telling him that Undyne has unleashed her Humongous Mecha on Frisk, and that he's trying to deactivate the firewall keeping Papyrus out. He then allows the skeleton his signal to reach Frisk, while also stating his intentions to honor the promised date with them.

Chapter 47: Undyne Mecha Battle

Destroying the platform, Undyne, in a massive mecha called The Determinator, fights Frisk for their SOUL. During the fight, Undyne also reveals that "Cap" is in fact Chara, and like Frisk, could Save and Reset, the glitched stars actually being her Save points, and her Determination slowly beginning to overpower and overtake Frisk's own and loses the power to reset to her. While Frisk is initially unable to attack directly, Papyrus calls them and tells them to use their phone to reflect Undyne's spear attacks back at her, much to Undyne's anger. Eventually, the mecha beings to fall apart from the damage, and Frisk, despite hating her for the way she's treated Papyrus, decides to save her. Unfortunately, Undyne snaps and tries to kill Frisk anyways, forcing Frisk to fend her off, and fatally wound her in the process. When Papyrus and Mettaton catch up, Undyne is already melting away. Mettaton then tries to take her to get medical help, only to Amalgamate with her, much to Papyrus's horror. Frisk, wracked with guilt, flies away while blaming themselves for everything being their fault. They then break down in tears while in the elevator.

Chapter 48: Everything Is (Not) Fine

Frisk, still heavily traumatized by Mettaton and Undyne Amalgamating, finds themselves unable to reset. They decide to just rush through New Home while avoiding the save points to get Flowey the SOULs, even blocking out Chara's attempts to reach them. Chapter 62: New Game (null_1)

Flowey, having been reborn as Asriel Dreemurr, uses the power of everyone's SOULs to recreate the timeline in his own image. Frisk, now unable to SAVE and still retaining their memories of the second timeline, wakes up next to the bed of flowers at the beginning of the Underground. They find the freshly resurrected Chara, who feels incredible guilt for not stopping Flowey despite knowing his intentions and identity. Frisk tries to calm Chara down, but they retaliate in hopes of driving Frisk away from them. During the battle, Chara reveals to Frisk what happened to them near the end of the first timeline. In spite of Chara's pleas, Frisk continues to reassure them (Chara) that it isn't all their fault and points out that they (Frisk) are mostly to blame for not listening to Chara and trusting Flowey.
Frisk manages to comfort Chara and they both proceed to enter the Ruins. Both humans express shock at how heavily distorted the entrance is. Knowing that they both have a long journey ahead of them to stop Asriel, the two proceed through the entrance.

Chapter 63: Empty (null_2)

Frisk and Chara venture through the corrupted Ruins, which is a mix between the old and new ones. After solving several puzzles and reading several messages from Asriel, the two make it to Chara's old home and go through the basement. Frisk suddenly has another deja-vu moment right before leaving the exit for Snowdin (showing memories of Toriel and Asgore fighting them as the Ruins' caretakers from both timelines). As the two humans go through Snowdin, Chara picks up "gifts" left by Asriel and they agree to take the lead as "Captain Cryptic." As they resume walking, Asriel saves the game. Meanwhile, Undyne's robots are confused about how everyone disappeared before encountering a stranger.

Chapter 64: Hollow (null_3)

Frisk and Chara make their way through the empty Snowdin. As they were walking through, they saw a live report that someone has taken over Hotland, but it is interrupted by Asriel, who uses the screen to jumpscare them before breaking it. After solving several puzzles, feeling worn out, they decide to stop by at one of the houses to rest, but can only get into the now empty skelebros' house. When Frisk gets inside, they end up seeing an illusion of Papyrus and Sans being fine before it is immediately dispelled, causing Frisk to break down. After a brief chat discussing their Asriel situation and the past timeline, the two take a nap and head to the river in hopes that they'll catch a ride on the Riverperson's boat, hoping that wasn't gone as well. Meanwhile, Lilac goes through the door to the underground and finds that no one is present...

Chapter 65: Hope (null_4)

Much to the humans' surprise, the Riverperson was able to escape absorption, having remembered what happened in the old timeline as well. They give Frisk and Chara a ride to Napstablook's house, which resident also escaped absorption. After a brief reunion, Blooky opened the door to Forgespring in hopes that the humans would find some gear that would help them on their journey. There Frisk and Chara find that the shops there have also been looted by Asriel. However, this time Asriel was "generous" enough to give them two pieces of armor: The Locket Insert (which raises max HP by 5 but is only wearable by Chara due to Asriel's magic) and the Flowey Armor (a mocking yet stronger variant of the Temmie armor, granting 22 DEF). After grabbing the armor and looting the gold, the two board the Riverperson's boat to arrive in Hotland. When they arrive, they find that the entire place had been taken over by a certain "Lord Spamton," who Frisk recalls is the email program they read about from the True Lab terminal. Meanwhile, after a brief commercial advertising his [Spamton Ass! Spamton ASS!], Spamton awaits his first customer to arrive at his grand reopening. After waiting for a while, a familiar sounding girl walks through the door...

Chapter 66: Big Deal (null_5)

Upon arriving at the hotel, Frisk and Chara are greeted by Robots 98 and 100, who are now under the management of Spamton. Much to Frisk's horror, they see Lilac with Spamton, who is trying to make a deal to take her [[Heart Shaped Object]]. Chara (and Frisk, reluctantly) decide to intervene and engaged in a fight with Spamton and his robot posse.
During the fight, Chara and Frisk overheat Robot 98's XPipis form using the former's magic and the latter's phone cannon. After a brief quiz show with Robot 100, Lilac explains that she doesn't know what "Pipis" are and came to see if Frisk was okay. Shortly afterward, Spamton brings in Papyton to help demonstrate the Pipis. Chara then decides to remove the robots from the fight by buying them with 1997G (much to Spamton's delight). Unfortunately, Lilac was still Spamton's hostage and Spamton has Papyrus' "gun". When trying to make a deal with Spamton, Spamton explains that he wants something "New". Lilac, totally done with the nonsense, pays him $15.00 of surface money to buy his Fun Pak. After the fight, Spamton welcomes the humans as his red carpet guests. Chara, seeing that Frisk and Lilac are still at odds, decides that they need to chat in private.
Meanwhile, Asriel is pissed that Spamton ruined his fountain, then decides that it wasn't important for now and proceeds to use the power he's been building up over the city and engulfs the surface in darkness.

Chapter 66: Her (null_6)

Outside of the hotel, Frisk and Lilac get into a heated argument about why they climbed Mt. Ebbot. After a while, though, they eventually make up and fix their friendship. After explaining what's been going on with the Underground and Asriel, Lilac decides that she'll follow Frisk and Chara on their way to confront Asriel. The humans then decide to take up Spamton's offer to use the hotel for a quick nap before leaving for the surface. After going through the elevators and passing through New Home, the three finally make it to the exit (at which point Lilac remembers it's Frisk's birthday). On their way out, they see a replica of Flowey's body standing between them and the exit. As soon as they left, the replica reveals its face and laughs mockingly. Asriel, having seen the humans leave through the eyes of the Flowey replica, has a brief monologue about how he will make sure to "welcome" Lilac and how he's going to prepare a new world just for Chara.
