Recap / Infinity Train: Boiling Point: The Cupid Bee Car

Go To

The Blight Ball and Cupid Bee Car saga finally begins.

  • Ballroom Blitz: Both sides of the story have brawls during a huge ball.
  • Bittersweet Ending:
    • Bitter:
      • Amity has practically lost everything: her innocence, her house, her identity, her mother (though that's not much of a loss) and even her ability to cast magic.
      • The Blight Ball results in dozens, if not hundreds, of casualties, and the Blight family name tarnished thanks to all the stuff both revealed and what happened during the ball.
      • The Innocence is killed, and with her goes the chance that Boscha can make a full recovery, indicating she's gonna come back wrong in some capacity.
      • At least some of the Magiguns that Prometheus made have been delivered to not only Emperor Belos, but his master: Azura.
    • Sweet:
      • Not only do Skara and Amity grow closer than ever, but they get the chance to contact Boscha (in the form of Boa) and make amends for the moment.
      • Skara and her mother have escaped the Underworld, and are fully intent on returning to the Boiling Isles.
      • Amirani, Prometheus, Odalia, and Louise all kick the bucket, stopping not only all the damage they've done this arc, but also ensuring they'll never harm anyone again.
  • Bystander Syndrome: The Master of Masters could intervene but chose not to; this bites him in the ass when Louisa kills the Innocence.
  • Enemy Mine: Chloe and Sara do not see eye to eye, but when Chloe tells Sara who really started Apex Fantasy, they team up to stop her.
  • Four Is Death: This saga is four parts and a lot of people — Amirani, Prometheus, Odalia, Louisa and Boscha's innocence — kick the bucket.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Not only do Skara and Amity find out where Boscha is, but they even manage to speak to her (well, Boa) and come to some closure for the time being.
    • Chloe and Sara Diktalyis learn that Louisa is the reason for creating the Apex Fantasy group that Chloe fought in the past.
    • Amelia finally learns the truth about Hazel's existence.
  • On Three: Lampshaded. After Amity and Skara finish talking with Boa on a crystal ball, Willow ends up busting a wall open after confusing Gus' use of this trope, which they both discuss.
  • Tears of Remorse: Boa sheds these while speaking with Skara through Chris, right before promising she'll face the consequences when Boscha returns.
  • Quirky Girl, Quirky Tux: Quite a few girls wear tuxedos for this saga: Luz, Lucy, Peacock, Hazel...
  • We Need a Distraction: Right after Willow busts a door open with a giant plant fist during the Blight Ball, Persephone, Amity, and Skara rework their dance number as a distraction, keeping everybody occupied on them while Mattholomule fixes the wall.
  • Wham Episode: This arc changes the game for the entire story from the multitude of deaths to the reveal of Emperor Belos working for Azura and how Azura is the one in charge of the Reality Check Camp Luz nearly went to.
