Liv probes the murder of alcoholic journalist Rebecca Hinton while recovering from Lowell's death in the previous episode.

  • And Then What?: Liv discusses with Ravi the consequences of telling Major about the zombies, letting him check in a mental hospital.
  • The Alcoholic: Liv becomes this after eating Rebecca Hinton's brain.
  • Alone with the Psycho: Liv being trapped on a boat with Sebastian, the Max Rager enforcer.
  • Arc Welding: Rebecca Hinton, the reporter whose death Liv is looking into, was the same reporter who helped Major break the story about The Candyman. Also, Max Rager, the energy drink company that Liv encountered in "Flight of the Living Dead", was also the sponsor of the boat party that Liv went to in the pilot episode and the energy drink itself is suspected to be partly responsible for the zombie outbreak that occurred there.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Max Rager is able to get away with their coverup of the psychotic breaks, and therefore can get away with two murders and who knows how many lives ruined by being unfairly treated for mental diseases they don't have. The thumb drive containing the only evidence against them is also lost. On the longer arc side of things, Blaine gets away with his murders in the first season because there's no possible way Liv and Ravi could explain everything concerning it without breaking the masquerade.
  • Blood Lust: The hitman licking Liv's blood. Seriously, who does that?
  • Break the Cutie: Liv. Along with the alcoholic brains and Lowell's death.
  • Came Back Strong & Wrong: Sebastian Meyer, the hitman from Max Rager, falls into the lake and gets chewed up by the boat propeller. Unfortunately, he had ingested zombie blood a few minutes beforehand, and when he washes up on shore, he wakes up as a zombie.
  • Shout-Out:
    • “Blonde pretty boy who looks like he’s straight out of a Nicholas Sparks movie?”
    • "Yeah. I also taught him to declaim Hamlet soliloquies. He holds a tiny skull, it's quite something."
    • "Ow, mother of dragons! God, that hurt."
  • You Have to Believe Me!: Major can't prove that he fought and shot Julien. It gets worse when Clive finds Julien in the gym "alive" and insinuates that Major may be mentally ill.
