iRescue Carly is the 10th episode in the 5th season of iCarly.
Sam warns Carly and Freddie to stay away from her rebellious friend Dana, but Carly, determined she's not a goodie two-shoes, tries to tag along with Dana at a smash party, which she finds more dangerous than what she had hoped for.
Meanwhile, Spencer has fun with a pair of night vision goggles.
Tropes:
- Accidental Truth: Dana teasingly calls Carly, Gibby, and Freddie "ballerinas". It turns out Freddie actually took a ballet class in the past, which he whispers to Carly in worry.
- Big Damn Hero: When Dana and her friends hold the rest of the iCarlys hostage and throw things at them, Sam shows up to rescue them by swinging her butter sock at Dana and her friends, beating them.
- Blinded by the Light: The night vision goggles only work well when it's dark; if the lights ever turn on, it will totally blind the wearer.
- Chekhov's Gun: Sam ends up using a pair of the night vision goggles that Spencer had in order to turn off all the lights in the abandoned house so she can attack all of Dana's friends in the dark.
- Childish Pillow Fight: Spencer and T-Bo, being the manchildren they are, have a fight in the dark in the Shay apartment using night vision googles, but with teddy bears instead of pillows.
- Comically Missing the Point: When Sam steals T-Bo's sock (telling him to just buy another) and Spencer's butter, then runs out of the apartment saying she needs to save Carly, this is all Spencer has to say:Spencer: HEY! THEY DON'T SELL INDIVIDUAL SOCKS!
- Epic Fail: One of the activities at the party Dana and Carly go to is throwing glass bottles at a wall, breaking them. But when Carly tries her turn at it, she weakly throws a bottle and it bounces off the wall, not shattering at all. This causes bystanders around her to boo at her.
- Eye Scream: When Sam comes to the darkened Shay apartment while Spencer and T-Bo are having a Pillow Fight with night vision goggles, she turns on the light. This causes bright flashes to appear in their sight, and they take off the goggles in agony.
- Horrible Judge of Character: Played With for Carly. She realizes that Dana is a bad influence, but still figures that there is a soft side to her like Sam. But when Dana invites her to a party in an abandoned house, and Carly sees the antics Dana and the other delinquents get into, she realizes that Dana is nothing but trouble.
- One-Steve Limit: The name "Dana" was previously used for an iCarly fan in "iSpace Out".
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Sam is rightfully serious when warning Carly and Freddie to stay away from Dana.
- Roaring Rampage of Rescue: When Sam arrives, she turns off the lights, uses her night-vision goggles and beats the tar out of every single person in the house.
- Tickle Torture: While using night vision goggles in the dark, Spencer tickles Freddie and Gibby, much to their irritation, as they can't see where he is.
- Toxic Friend Influence: Sam considers Dana a friend because they went through juvie together but it's shown that, while Sam's not the aggressive bully she used to be, Dana is still the bully she was before. Realizing this, Sam all but forbids Carly from spending time with Dana.
