iSpeed Date is the 3rd episode in the third season of iCarly.
When Sam organizes a "Take Carly to the Dance" contest to help Carly find potential dates for an upcoming girls' choice dance, multiple boys show up and they set up a speed dating business to find the right one for her, and when she does, he's not who she expected.
Meanwhile, Spencer starts following a bizarre workout regime.
Tropes:
- Answer Cut: Sam asks Freddie how many guys would actually want to date Carly. It cuts to the Groovy Smoothie, with boys yelling to want to be with Carly, with Carly revealing that 752 total guys were there!
- Big "SHUT UP!": Carly screams three in a row when she's had enough of Austin interrupting her.
- Blatant Lies: Freddie tells one of the boys he's interviewing, who was once a male model and now is the lead singer in a band, that Carly would hate him, though it's actually because he knows Carly would want to date him and he’s jealous.
- Bound and Gagged: In order to announce on iCarly that Carly needs a date to the dance, Sam gets Carly out of the way of interrupting her by clipping Carly to a chair with straps and duct-taping her mouth shut, much to the latter's distress and anger.
- Brutal Honesty: The first boy Spencer interviews. When Spencer asks him if he wants to date Carly, he replies that he'd rather make out with her. Spencer responds by instantly yelling for the next boy to come up.
- Dance of Romance: Between Carly and Freddie in the final scene.
- Eye Scream: Carly accidentally spits in the eye of her first potential date, Nate.
- Foreshadowing: Carly looks slightly ticked when Austin interrupts her to see Spencer's invention, hinting at how really talkative he is.
- Get Out!: Carly screams this to Austin at the Groovy Smoothie when she calls him out.
- Karma Houdini: Carly never finds out Freddy was sabotaging her efforts to find a good date, though he does end up going on a lousy date himself.
- Magic Countdown: Spencer's workouts are often more or less than ten seconds as described.
- Motor Mouth: Austin is very talkative, to the point he constantly interrupts Carly and changes the subject. She calls him out for it near the end.
- Never My Fault: Sam complains about Carly making her go to the dance with Gibby, even though SHE forced Carly to go to the dance with a guy by announcing it on a webcast.
- No Social Skills: The magic-practicing girl, Malika, who Freddie is partially "forced" to take to the prom because he was too late in picking another girl (and Carly turned him down). She constantly puts Freddie in harm's way just to show off magic tricks, thinking it'll impress him.
- Overly Long Gag: Carly getting interrupted by Austin before she gets to even finish a single sentence. It is to the point she calls him out and dumps him after the dance is over.
- Rage Breaking Point: Austin interrupting her mid-sentence one too many is what causes Carly to finally lose it and call him out.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech:Carly: So as I was saying... I wonder —
Austin: You guys ever been to Fresno?
Carly: Shut up!
Austin: What? I was just —
Carly: SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP!!!
Austin: What's your deal?
Carly: My deal is that you haven't let me finish one sentence all night and I can't take it anymore!! It's like you won't even let me —
Austin: What are you trying to say?
Carly: GET OUTTA HERE!!!!!

- Screw This, I'm Out of Here!:
- When Carly explodes at Austin and tells him to Get Out!, the scared teenager immediately obeys and leaves the Groovy Smoothie in a hurry.
- Also, Spencer starts doing hip wiggles (as in wiggling his butt) in front of everybody in the Groovy Smoothie. The boy who was being interviewed just leaves and runs out of the Groovy Smoothie.
- Stating the Simple Solution: Spencer tells Carly that he has an app that can ring 180 times a day to give him exercise. Carly states the obvious.Carly: Why not just go to a gym?
Spencer: [laughs] You can't go to a gym 180 times a day! - The Talk: When Carly is about to meet Austin to go to the dance, Spencer tries to give her this. She is understandably uncomfortable and tells him to stop, much to his relief.
- Tranquil Fury: At first, Carly is intent on Austin talking, but when she finds he won't let her finish one sentence, she slowly starts to grow more frustrated though suppressed; it isn't until the afterdate at the Groovy Smoothie that she realizes how talkative he's become, resulting in her Rage Breaking Point.
- The Unreveal: We never actually get to see the dance.
