Recap / iCarly (2021) S1E13 "iReturn to Webicon"

Go To

In the season one finale, Carly and the gang return to Webicon, where they run into a familiar face.

Tropes:

  • The Big Damn Kiss: Between Harper and Dutch, and well known for being the first major onscreen same-sex kiss in the franchise.
  • Call-Back:
    • Webicon had previously played a role in both "iPsycho" and "iStart a Fan War".
    • While the cast are sitting around a campfire, Beau mentions George, the bra who tells ghost stories from the original show.
    • Spencer mentions the Rite-Aid fedora that Freddie bought in "iGot Your Back".
  • Camping Episode: This episode takes place in the wilderness due to the Webicon now being a glamping retreat where the guests stay in treehouses (which only one was built.)
  • Didn't Think This Through: The organizers didn't have the budget to set up the glorious wilderness retreat they'd hoped for. When the cast arrives, there's a cardboard Webicon sign and only one treehouse that is poorly built.
  • Like Father, Like Son: When the treehouse is falling apart, Freddie puts a helmet on Millicent, screaming "I am my mother's son!" Showing that he will get into protective mode like his mom when push comes to shove.
  • Love Triangle: This episode sets one up between Carly, Wes and Beau.
  • Promoted to Love Interest: Harper and Dutch acknowledge their budding attraction to each other and despite agreeing to keep things professional, they give in and kiss each other.
  • Running Gag: Wes declines Carly's offer to go skinny dipping due to the fear of catching penis parasites. Carly later says that if she was with Beau, he'd have caught four penis parasites by now (this is before she actually saw him). At the end of the episode, Freddie says he got a penis parasite.
  • Security Cling: When the treehouse is capsizing, Carly ends up jumping into Beau's arms, which Wes is not at all pleased about. Harper and Dutch end up clinging to each other, which both of them nervously brush off.
  • Take That!: This episode is a parody of the infamous Fyre Festival, another large event that ended up being poorly planned.
