Sarah's visit to her old house increases the tension between her and her father — and their Lovebugs. Meanwhile, Montel gets stuck between attending the rigorous Notre Shame University or his parents' alma mater, Fuck University.
Tropes:
- Actor Allusion: Van (played by Miley Cyrus) mentions she knew that Hannah Montana and Miley Stewart were the same person, much to young Sarah's surprise.
- Closed Door Rapport: Sarah locks herself in the bathroom when her memories of her mom turn into guilt trips. Paul attempts to reconnect with her by making small talk through the door.
- Laser-Guided Broadcast: Walter tells Emmy that he's giving up on Sarah's case, then Bosch on TV says, "I'm not giving up on this case." Emmy lampshades that it has to be a sign.
- A Place Holds Memories: Sarah is distraught to return to her house because it brings back memories of her mom, which thus make her feel guilty for not seeing her before she died. Then it's made literal by Emmy arriving with a sack of memories retrieved from the Memory Bank.
- Rousing Speech: Emmy gives a passionate speech to Walter imploring him to try and reconnect Paul and Sarah. Walter agrees immediately, much to Emmy's surprise, because the speech was that good.
