When Honey is accidentally taken in by another family who treats their dogs strictly, she decides to enjoy her new, obediance-trained life while their dog that looks like her is taken home and bonds with Chief. Max tries to leave his new owner, David Spade, after he finds out that he's going to be the next Christmas dinner.

- Self-Serving Memory: Played for Laughs. When Chief finally discovers that Lady Capulet is not Honey, he says that he believed he would've found out about that. We are then treated to a flashback where Capulet, in the most clear and concise way, tells Chief that she isn't Honey, but Chief takes no heed.
- Special Edition Title: The opening titles have a Christmas theme to them, complete with a worded version of the theme tune instead of the usual animal noises.
