Ivy crashes Lex's birthday party on the moon. Meanwhile, Harley struggles to find a way to avenge her friend.

Tropes

  • Back from the Dead: The end of the episode reveals Talia has revived Nightwing in a Lazarus pit. His first words are to demand where Harley is.
  • Call-Back: While Talia is heading back to Earth, Mark Zuckerberg's body hits the windshield.
    Talia: What the Zuck?
  • Came Back Wrong: Talia warns Damian that Nightwing won't be the same after being brought back, though she tries to spin it as him being better. Physically, he appears fine, but his slightly off voice suggests his mind likely isn't the same.
  • Conveniently Empty Building: When Ivy starts raining death on her adversaries, Harley initially worries about the massive amount of civilians that will be caught in the crossfire. Barbara explains that she remotely triggered the fire alarms so the buildings will be empty, leaving Clayface the only actual casualty of Ivy's rampage (and given his powers, he could easily survive).
  • Desecrating the Dead: Ivy "pays her respects" to Clegg, whom she killed last episode, by urinating on his grave.
  • Detonation Moon: Ivy's overuse of Lex's space laser splits the moon in half. Superman puts it back together three days later, once his powers have recovered.
  • Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: Kidnapping someone, blindfolding, and tying them to a leash as a pet may come across as deplorable, but since it’s Harley that is doing this to the man who use to abuse Harley and had just crippled her friend, it instead comes across as funny karma.
  • Fair-Weather Friend: While Ivy's new girlboss friends congratulate her for taking the Legion of Doom from Lex in the last episode, they're still going to his moon-base party as though everything's fine. When Ivy decides not to settle for her half-victory and tries killing Lex, they all abandon her for it.
  • Grave Robbing: Catwoman was robbing the dead in Gotham Cemetery when she came upon Nightwing's looted casket.
  • Handicapped Badass: Barbara may be paralyzed from the waist down, but she can still kick ass in her own way.
  • Lighter and Softer: The Joker shoots Barbara Gordon, paralysing her, as he's done in many continuities. But usually afterwards he tortures and is implied to rape her while her father is Forced to Watch, here she's next seen in the hospital, The Joker having presumably ran away afterwards.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Barbara's now in the wheelchair and starts fighting villains by doing computer hacking... but no code name or screen avatar yet.
    • Superman looks even more emaciated than he was in Flashpoint (both versions).
    • Harley, Ivy, and Catwoman — plus Barbara — now form their own team called "Gotham City Sirens". Barbara tried suggesting their team being called the "birds of prey", which is rejected as none of them are bird-themed.
    • Nightwing being brought back to life in a Lazarus pit for Damian's sake, but maybe Came Back Wrong, has been done before.
  • Neutrality Backlash: When Harley toys with the idea of being a neutral figure a world of good versus evil, Joker retorts that only "normies" and "uggos" claim to be neutral and no one will respect her if she decided to stick to that.
  • Orbital Bombardment: Ivy reconfigures Lex's ozone ray into a death ray then rains hell on the companies of her fellow female business leaders (and Clayface) before capping it off by vaporizing the Legion of Doom headquarters.
  • Power Parasite: Lex kidnapped Superman while he was depowered and took his powers, vitality, and luscious hair.
  • Ripple Effect Indicator: Averted; photos of Neytiri are still in Harley's phone and unchanged, implying that the apocalyptic Bad Future will still happen.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: When he sees the moon laser destroying Gotham, Bruce decides he can't stay in prison any longer and arranges a prestigious internship for the daughter of the judge presiding over his case. His lawyer informs him that he'll be out of prison that day, and he is.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: Alfred spent the whole season trying to get thrown into Blackgate just to be Bruce's butler again, only for Bruce to be let out just as Alfred's being escorted in.
  • So Proud of You: When Harley rescues him from Lex's kryptonite prison, Superman gives her a meek, but unmistakably proud smile as he tells her that he always knew that she was a hero.
  • The Stinger: After the credits, there's a trailer for Kite Man Hell Yeah.
  • Take the Third Option: After spending the entire episode trying to decide whether to kill the Joker or hand him over to the police for crippling Barbara, Harley Quinn decides to simply hand the Joker over to Barbara’s father, Jim, and let him decide his fate.
  • Uncertain Doom:
    • Ivy has Steppenwolf take Lex away for her; knowing the denizens of Apokolips, it's safe to say Lex is sufficiently screwed.
    • Among the places blown up is Clayface's casino. While Barbara's evacuation is delivered there like other places, Clayface doesn't react to it and complains about bankruptcy as he starts drinking, making it unclear if he escaped like everybody else or was blown up by the laser. Given how hard it is to actually harm him, even being caught in the blast may not have killed him.
  • Villainous Rescue: Harley saves Superman from Lex's kryptonite prison, albeit only after their revenge upon Gotham's business community has destabilized the moon.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Joker complains about Harley threatening kids despite joining the Bat Family. Granted, this may have to do with them being his kids, but he had been pretty pro-child as Mayor. Harley's rebuttal is that she isn't a hero anymore.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Bethany initially refuses to tell Harley where Joker is, but when her kids show up ready to join the fight and Harley indicates she's willing to fight them to get to Joker, Bethany gives him up to spare her children Harley's wrath.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: Alfred finally manages to get himself transferred to Blackgate, only for Bruce to bail himself out at the same time.
