Gretel helps Nordle with locating Professor Exclamation, since he's still missing since their previous encounter, and Nordle misses him. This eventually leads them to a creepy, abandoned doll factory filled with riddles. Meanwhile, Hamster, Kevin and Fred impose a challenge on themselves who can survive the longest without electricity.

- All for Nothing: Nordle's quest to find his father ends up fruitless because he accidentally gave the wrong answer to the final test.
- Band of Brothers: As with previous appearances, Nordle is rather cold to Tobor and only sees him as a nuisance, but that changes when, after Nordle fails to answer what his birthday is, Tobor sacrifices himself to protect Nordle from oncoming lasers, as Nordle then realizes how Tobor is like a much nicer father.
- Brick Joke: Early on, Tobor makes Nordle a sweater, which ends up draping over his eggs Benedict. At episode's end, Nordle finally accepts one of Tobor's sweaters, and wonders why it's covered in hollandaise sauce.
- Brilliant, but Lazy: Without electricity, Hamster, Kevin and Fred accomplish various things within three hours they would normally not do: Fred completes a novel, Kevin measured the Earth diameter using a pendulum and a plate of mustard, and Hamster had been meditating the whole time, just reaching enlightenment. The three are also about to solve cold fusion when Carolina arrives and turns the lights back on; as soon as she turns on the TV, Hamster, Kevin and Fred become lazy again and join her on the couch.
- The Hilarity of Hats: Gretel and Nordle find Professor Exclamation's lost hat, and discover that he got it from a peculiar hat shop that sells punctuation-themed hats.
- It Was with You All Along: Nordle spent the whole time looking for his dad, but when Tobor protects him from a flurry of destructive lasers, Nordle realizes that the one who cared for him was Tobor all along. After Tobor auto-repairs himself, Nordle accepts Tobor as his father figure.
- Only the Knowledgable May Pass: Professor Exclamation left clues that require Nordle to input information that only he would know. Subverted with the last one, in which Nordle is supposed to type his birthday... but since Exclamation never bothered to learn it, inputting the correct date was actually the wrong answer, and they are fired at by lasers.
- Shout-Out: One Idiosyncratic Wipe reveals that the person who called Hamster and sent him pics is none other than Candace Flynn (and her friend Stacy).
- Taking the Bullet: As our heroes are attacked with lasers, Tobor jumps in front of Nordle to protect him and is seemingly killed. Except he is able to repair himself.
