"A picture is worth a thousand words!"

Aired: November 20, 2006

When taking pictures for The Daily Acorn, The Mole accidentally snaps a picture of Splendid's secret identity, and Splendid does what he can to prevent the world from knowing.

"See What Develops" contains examples of:

  • Artistic License – Cars: When Splendid lifts up the top half of Petunia's vehicle, somehow her upper half gets lifted up with it, even though there would be nothing connected that could do so, including the steering wheel.
  • Depending Upon the Undependable: Lumpy needs a photographer to accompany Splendid to the supermarket opening. Looking around the newspaper office, he sees Sniffles fiddling with some cameras and overall looking like he knows what he's doing. Naturally, he picks... The Mole, whom he earlier saw trying to change the water in a water cooler because he missed his cup and couldn't see that the cooler was full, being blind and all.
  • Inconvenient Darkroom Illumination: When Lumpy is developing the photo of Splendid taking off his disguise to reveal his superhero identity, the Mole opens the darkroom's door, letting in enough light to overexpose the picture and turn it black.
  • Literally Shattered Lives: Splendid accidentally freezes Cuddles with his frost breath, and attempting to thaw him out using his laser vision instead just causes Cuddles to break into mini ice cubes.
  • Moment of Silence: Splendid does this twice after the deaths of Handy and Cuddles... which were caused by Splendid himself.
  • New Job as the Plot Demands:
    • Splendid, Sniffles, Lumpy, and the Mole are journalists.
    • Flaky, Nutty, and Disco Bear are grocers.
  • Screams Like a Little Girl: Splendid when he realizes the Mole has taken a picture of him shedding his Secret Identity.
  • Shout-Out: Keeping in with being a Superman expy, Splendid works at a newspaper company called "The Daily Acorn" (in reference to Superman's "The Daily Planet").
  • Stripped to the Bone: Giggles ends up meeting this fate as a result of being too close to Splendid when he flew off.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: Flaky, Nutty, Disco Bear, Giggles, Toothy, Petunia, Cuddles, Handy, and Mime die.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Splendid, The Mole, Lumpy, Russell, Pop, Cub, Cro-Marmot, and Sniffles survive.
