The Savior of Dalmore
A union conference between Dalmore, Wales, and Feendrache is coming soon, with the idea of an alliance being one of the few topics that might be brought up. Fearing that the conference might go south, Florence visits the crew to request her brother, Gawain, to attend the talks.
While Archduke Hyland is okay with Gawain's presence in the talks, the commander of Dalmore knights, Pete, is not and wanted Gawain to regain the trust of the people via signatures.
Tropes
- Didn't Think This Through: Pete completely underestimated how strong the hybrids are, further solidifying Gawain's and Florence's heroism and denying his own chance at being a hero again.
- Engineered Heroics: Pete colluded with Lusor so he could get the latter to send hybrids to Dalmore, defeat them, and get lauded as a hero.
- Generation Xerox: The first Miracle of Dalmore is done by Lot and Morgause. The second Miracle of Dalmore are done by their two children, Gawain and Florence.
- Reassignment Backfire: Pete made a Uriah Gambit to kill off Gawain. His actions showed that Gawain is a One-Man Army and is lauded along with Florence while Pete gets nothing in return.
- Stating the Simple Solution: When Lusor declares that he'll destroy Dalmore, Tor points out that there would have been no need to capture Gawain if he already knows about the conference since he could use it as a distraction.
- Uriah Gambit: Back when Gawain was with the Dalmore knights, Pete sent him off alone with the expectation that he'll be overwhelmed by the entire army of Wales.
