While investigating a theft ring in Manhattan, Brooklyn is distracted by thoughts of Angela and lets a truck get away. Feeling frustrated with the clan after a chewing-out by Goliath and a moment between Angela and Broadway, Brooklyn goes off by himself, finding a trio of kids — Dave, his sister Bobbi and their friend Kenny — who live on the streets and do jobs for a man called "Radar"; he chooses to stick around with them and figure things out, but they turn out to be more involved with the ring than realized.
This episode contains the following tropes:
- Abusive Parents: Discussed by Bobbi as to why she and her brother ran away from home.
- Beneath Notice: Radar specifically recruits runaway teenagers because they're so unassuming, and they wouldn't be missed if something happened to them.
- Big Damn Reunion: Dave and Bobbi's parents happily come to the hospital to bring them both home in the end.
- Contrived Coincidence: The runaway teens Brooklyn falls in with just so happen to be working for the man running the theft ring Elisa's working to take down.
- A Day in the Limelight: This is Brooklyn's signature episode of The Goliath Chronicles.
- False Friend: Kenny thinks very little of Dave and Bobbi, even threatening the latter's life when the chips are down, and he's quick to sell Brooklyn out to Radar.
- Meaningful Name: Radar got that name because he always seems to know when something is happening.
- Obviously Evil: Radar sports a Villainous Widow's Peak and a Beard of Evil and is an all-around unpleasant man.
- The Runaway: If the title of the episode didn't make it too obvious, this story is all about them.
- Two Guys and a Girl: Kenny, Dave and Bobbi work together on the streets.
