Rachel finally gives birth to a baby girl that she names Emma. She is sad to realize she won't have a husband to support her. Phoebe pressures Ross by asking why he isn't together with Rachel when it's clear they still have feelings for each other.

Tropes:

• Accidental Proposal: Joey finds Ross' ring and tries to show it to Rachel, but he is kneeling and Rachel mistakes it for a proposal, which she accepts.
• Cliffhanger: Joey doesn't get to correct his Accidental Proposal to Rachel. Meanwhile, Ross is coming with flowers, seemingly wanting to propose to her himself. The episode (and season) ends there (except for the funny Monica and Chandler-centric stinger, of course).
• Continuity Nod: Joey tells Cliff about some of Phoebe's past exploits to make up for tricking him into saying some personal stuff about himself. Phoebe, who's standing next to him, quickly cuts him off as his examples aren't helping her case.
  Joey: Uh, she was married to a gay ice dancer. Uh, she gave birth to her brother's triplets. Oh! Oh! Her-her twin sister used to do porn!
  Phoebe: Uh Joey, we're trying to dial down the crazy.
• The Gadfly: When Chandler asks after the father of Janice's baby she decides to screw with him by claiming it's his.
• Gaslighting: Phoebe tries to do this to Cliff after he sees "Dr. Drake Ramoray" on the TV set and recognises him as the one who made him weird, personal questions in the first part; she frames it as a delusion caused by the pills he's taking. This falls down when he sees "Dr. Ramoray" enter his room for the second time, out of uniform, and discovers he's her friend Joey.
• Last-Minute Baby Naming: After the baby is born:
  • Rachel decides the baby will have both Ross's and her last names - Geller-Greene.
  • Rachel and Ross have a debacle over her name. Rachel hates Ross's choices of Isabella and Delilah. Monica reveals she would like her own baby girl to be named Emma, which Rachel loves and clearly wants for her baby, but doesn't want to take it away from Monica. Monica lets her have it.
• Making Love in All the Wrong Places: Monica and Chandler are still trying to have sex in the hospital. The Stinger shows them leaving the janitor's closet, appearing to have succeeded.
• Mirror-Cracking Ugly: Janice's baby, Aaron Litman-Goralnik, scares every character that looks at him. Ross mentions his nose as the reason why:
  (To Rachel.) Man, did you see the kid on that nose?
• Open Mouth, Insert Foot: When Ross comes to after Rachel accidentally headbutted him, he says without thinking "You have no idea how much this hurts". After everyone in the room shoots him a Death Glare, he remembers what's going on, realizes he shouldn't have worded it like that, and continues aiding Rachel.
• Plot-Powered Stamina: No one is shown sleeping during the episode despite it going for at least 21 straight hours and yet Rachel is the only one who is tired.
• Screaming Birth: Rachel screams so hard during delivery she accidentally headbutts Ross.
• Too Much Information: Trying to compensate for the invasive questions he did Cliff as "Dr. Ramoray", Joey reveals equally weird, personal information about Phoebe: that she was married to a gay ice dancer^note Cliff thinks that it was supposed to be more than a Citizenship Marriage, that she gave birth to her brother's triplets^note he thought that they were incestuous, and that her twin sister used to do porn^note thank God he didn't mention she used "Phoebe Buffay" as her stage name.
• Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?:
  • Phoebe really wanted that the baby would keep the placeholder name the hospital gave theminvoked while Ross and Rachel decided for a permanent name - Baby Girl Geller-Greene - and was happy when they wouldn't decide between Isabella and Delilah.
