Chandler makes Joey go to a sleep clinic. Monica picks up Emily's wedding dress. Rachel is having trouble dealing with Ross' engagement.

- Altar the Speed: Ross announces that he and Emily are getting married in one month because the venue she has her heart set on is going to be demolished.
- Bouquet Toss: Monica and Phoebe pretend to do this while playing around in the wedding dresses. Phoebe attempts to be "real" by not tossing the bouquet directly at Monica who complains about not being able to catch it.
- Brick Joke: In the episodes Cold Open Chandler barges into Joey's room and angrily wakes him up noting that his snoring is keeping him up at night. In The Stinger the girl Chandler meet at the sleep clinic ends up screaming in her sleep and an angry Joey barges in noting that now he's the one whose being kept up.
- Continuity Nod: The wedding dress Rachel puts on is the dress she was wearing in the Pilot after running out on her wedding.
- Extreme Omnivore: After going to the sleep clinic Joey is given a mouth guard for his snoring that he has in his mouth when he meets up with Phoebe and Monica at Central Perk. When Monica notes that he doesn't need to wear it when he's not sleeping Joey replies that he likes the taste of it.
- Foreshadowing: Ross' wedding makes Monica long for one, which will lead her to sleep with Chandler a few episodes later.
- I Can't Dance: Chandler claims he doesn't dance at wedding because he knows he sucks at it. He demonstrates with some very awkward "dancing" that proves he's telling the truth.
- Lohengrin and Mendelssohn: Joey greets Ross by singing a few bars of Lohengrin to celebrate his engagement to Emily. Phoebe being Phoebe thinks the tune is the Olympic anthem.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Rachel's relationship with Joshua gets strained when she tries to broach the subject of marriage. When he later sees her in a wedding dress, he immediately leaves.
- Sleeps in the Nude: Chandler attempts to roll Joey over to stop him snoring only to yelp in horror when the blanket slips and he discovers Joey isn't wearing pajamas.
- Talking in Your Sleep: The girl Chandler meets at the sleep clinic claims she's there to be treated for talking in her sleep. Turns out she also screams in her sleep which Chandler only finds out after they sleep together.
