Zona gets into an argument with Owen about whether or not Danny Devito could be their coolest client. After Micah, Owen, and Ryan shoot an ad for a karate dojo, they get a free lesson and form the Karate Kobras. Devin wins a new scooter after a back alley game of Crazy Eights which she calls Scoots MaGoots, but it mysteriously keeps tipping over. The Karate Kobras go out on the streets searching for vigilante justice against this scooter tipper just like in primetime television.
Tropes in this episode include:
- Angels Pose: Micah, Owen, and Ryan strike this pose as the Karate Kobras.
- Back-to-Back Badasses: Owen and Micah stand back to back after Devin takes down Ryan. Subverted in that Devin promptly takes down both of them too.
- Batman Gambit: As part of her plan for getting revenge on Owen dissing Danny DeVito, Zona sarcastically suggests that the Karate Kobras should wear ninja masks, leading them to do exactly that.
- Berserk Button: Don't say anything bad about Danny DeVito around Zona.
- Bitch Slap:
- Zona slaps Owen when he implies that a one-handed taco truck worker is cooler than Danny DeVito.
- Subverted later when Zona finds Owen's new enlightened karate state so annoying that she tries to slap him, but he manages to stop her even though his eyes are closed. Turns out he was just reaching to grab a slinky and the block was accidental.
- Brick Joke: Devin vows that she will make an example of the leader of the raccoons in her "rummage territory." She is later seen sewing and then wearing a coonskin cap.
- The Chessmaster: Zona comes up with a scheme to manipulate Devin into
- Easily Forgiven: Owen forgives Zona for manipulating them because their actions led her to manipulate them. Devin is also glad that she got to go full John Cena.
- "Everybody Laughs" Ending: Owen says that Zona would have made "Bruce Norris" proud, a reference to a mistake she made earlier. Everyone in the crew laughs at this, with the exception of Zona who still seems to find it amusing.
- Fictional Fan, Real Celebrity: Zona is a big fan of Danny Devito.
- Gasp!: The VPC crew gasps when Zona reveals that she was behind the whole thing.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Devin beats up the Karate Kobras since she thinks they're ninjas tipping over her scooter.
- Noodle Incident: Ryan explains that Owen has three dents in his head, one from Devin and two from the same golf ball.
- Ominous Fog: The Karate Kobras encounter Devin in a foggy alleyway. Lampshaded by Ryan, who notes that although the fog is ominous he doesn't want to make assumptions.
- Overly Long Scream: Owen keeps screaming while Devin tases him, to the point that Owen wonders how he's still conscious and Devin thinks she recognizes his crying.
- Vertigo Effect: Happens to Owen and Micah when Devin confronts them near a bicycle shop.
