While shopping for a DVD player, Frasier meets an attractive woman called Claire and he soon discovers that she is a friend of Lana, former prom queen of his school whom he dated briefly in the past.

- Not-So-Forgotten Birthday: Lana is miserable because, on top of her ex-husband getting remarried, she thinks her friends have all forgotten about her birthday. After some back and forth Frasier tells her that they're waiting to surprise her and asks if she actually wants to go.
- Special Guest: Patricia Clarkson as Claire French
- Surprise Party: Claire recruits Frasier to bring Lana to the party they're planning for her. He ends up blabbing it to Lana when she assumes they haven't planned anything.
