"You cannot leave the magic!"
Almost ready to move out and leave, Doc and Sprocket try to meet Gobo one last time. Gobo, who had caught the flu and had been recovering, meets up with Doc, who introduces himself as Jerome Crystal, and Sprocket. Doc offers to take Gobo to the desert to explore as much as he likes. Gobo, reluctant to leave the Rock, hesitates and retreats. After a conversation with the Trash Heap about not leaving the magic, Gobo rushes back to the workshop to tell Doc but finds that he and Sprocket have left already. On the way back home, Gobo and the others come across a new tunnel, leading them to Doc and Sprocket's new location!

This episode contains examples of:

  • Berserk Button: Sprocket's reaction to being told he'll be traveling as baggage.
  • Credits Montage: The closing credits features all the characters singing.
  • Exact Words: The Trash Heap says Doc "cannot leave the magic." She doesn't mean that Gobo needs to convince him not to move, she means Doc literally can't leave the magic, as a brand new Fraggle Hole appears in his new home.
  • Grand Finale: This episode wraps The Fraggles up in a neat little bow, bringing an end to its four seasons.
  • Job-Stealing Robot: In the UK version, B.J. moves out of the lighthouse because it's being automated, which means that there's no longer a need for a keeper. The second tunnel leads to the castle where B.J. has become a caretaker.
  • Melancholy Musical Number: Gobo, saddened over the fact that Doc's about to move away, sings "Petals of a Rose."
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Averted. Doc manages to disguise Sprocket so that the dog won't have to travel as baggage and can sit with him in the cabin, and does it well enough so that it's not immediately obvious that his "grandfather" is a sheepdog. Although how he expected Sprocket to be able to eat cookies without having his cover blown is a puzzlement.
  • Punny Name: Doc Crystal
  • The Reveal: Doc's real name, Jerome Crystal, is mentioned for the first time when he formally introduces himself to Gobo.
  • True Companions: Doc is moving to stay near his best friend, Ned Shimmelfinney, who has to move to the desert because of his asthma.
  • Unconventional Food Usage: Doc leaves a mini pizza just inside the Fraggle hole, hoping to lure Gobo out. Wembley finds it when Doc's not there, but not realizing it's food, he hangs it on his wall as a decoration.
  • Volumetric Mouth: Sprocket is shown to have one (briefly) during his Berserk Button moment.
  • Weirdness Censor: The Trash Heap states that Fraggles are Invisible to Normals because most Silly Creatures are too silly to be able to see them. She later notes that humans have lost the ability to see the magic, and that a human making friends with a Fraggle is wonderful.
  • What, Exactly, Is His Job?: Here we find out at the beginning of the series that Doc moved to the workshop to try to be a marine biologist. It didn't work out.
  • You Are Too Late: When it looks like Doc is moving, Gobo races to tell him that he cannot leave the magic—but gets there too late, finding only a cold, dark, empty, utterly mundane room stripped of all the life and joy Doc and Sprocket had infused it with throughout the entire series. Luckily, the message wasn't an order. It's a statement of fact.
  • The X of Y: The episode's title.
