Miles joins Ilya's smuggling operation to make ends meet. Margot finds herself in a KGB prison. Kelly and Aleida try to find investors for their robot project.

- Bavarian Fire Drill: Miles tries to get the thermostat by claiming there's a leak in the North Korean compound. He manages to get them to leave, but Colonel Lee comes back in before he's finished.
- Cold-Blooded Torture: Because of the mysterious phone number in her wallet, Margo is handcuffed to a table and left there for hours when the KGB storms the jail. The KGB officer drags in the policeman who cuffed her, questions her about the woman who gave her the number, and shoots the policeman right in front of her. Then he chains her with her arms over her head, terrorizes her some more, and leaves her overnight.
- The Coup: With the help of the KGB, communist hardliners manage to oust Gorbachev and take control of the USSR.
- Get Out!: Dev says this multiple times as he fires the entire Helios board of directors.
- Godzilla Threshold: After destroying the thermostat in Ilya's distiller, Miles becomes determined to fix it. Requesting a new part from Earth would take two months. Fortunately, they find exactly one replacement at Happy Valley...and it's in the North Korean compound, where they were explicitly told not to go.
- The Reveal: Bill Strausser returns with the revelation he was paralyzed in the Space Center bombing and left NASA to be a private engineer.
- The Shut-In: This is what Dev has turned into as he never got over Karen's coup against him and spent the last several years barely moving past the beach of his home. However, Kelly's visit gets him fired up to take back Helios.
