Azami replaces two of the WGO judges with two superior rank officers that are completely sided with him, just as Rindou and Takumi are about to present their dishes

This episode provides examples of:

  • Blessed with Suck: Isshiki tells his side of the story to Nene. Because he had it easier to learn skills, his family constantly expected more from him, to the point Isshiki felt frustrated for having to keep a minimum level of perfection. It's only because Nene was working so hard to catch up to him that he valued all the effort and decided to follow his own path.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Anne, who at this point was completely neutral regarding Central and the Rebels, is very upset at Azami's random decision to have Courage and Decora, who are obviously draped around Azami, replace her fellow judges Histoire and Charme. To keep the judging fair, she insists on remaining in her place as a judge.
  • Fangirl: Both Courage and Decora make no secret that they are completely smitten with Azami, to the point Courage is constantly cooing around him, asking if she could sit on his lap if there aren't enough chairs, and even offering to blow Azami's food if it's too hot. Anne is visibly disgusted by this.
  • Hyper-Awareness: From the moment Azami took over as one of the judges in an attempt to rig the competition, Takumi could note that Rindou's livid attitude while cooking wasn't just rage, she was acting like a cornered animal. She was afraid of something.
  • Impossibly Delicious Food:
    • Takumi's "Calamari Ripieni" managed to elevate the classic Stuffed Calamari by stuffing the squid with minced anchovies, breadcrumbs, cheese, eggs, tomato, the innards of the squid, olive oil, red chillies, garlic, and white wine. All of this is accompanied by a cream sauce with the stuffing fond as base to create a contrast between the salty and spicy stuffing and the acidic exterior.
    • Rindou's dish "Spear Squid Causa", on the other hand, makes a bigger impression on the judges by adding a spin to the traditional Peruvian dish. While it's usually stuffed with minced chicken, tuna, or crab with mayonnaise between the layers of mashed potatoes, Rindou made a squid patty with a mayonnaise-soy sauce sauce, and Pirarucu/Araipamanote  in the second layer.
    • Isshiki's "Japanese Wild Rabbit Soup" is a wanmononote  manages to impress the judges for the use of rabbit, a meat that normally wouldn't suit a dish like that for the gaminess. This is possible thanks to the balance between the fried rabbit and the konbu stock and clams. Before finishing the dish, the judges discover that the mochi ball is filled with minced rabbit, scallions and white miso paste that transforms the rabbit broth into a miso soup.
