After the Training Camp is over, Jouichirou visits the Polar Star Dormitory, revealing some interesting facts that even Soma didn't know.

- Adaptation Expansion:
- Once again we have The Cameo from all the minor characters that will appear in the next arc.
- In The Stinger, it's revealed that Fuyumi also failed to recruit Takumi and Isami, as they declined because of Trattoria Aldini, just like Soma did because of Yukihira.
- Butt-Monkey: Marui becomes the only victim of one of Jouichirou's failed experiments.
- Captain Oblivious: When the others ask Soma how couldn't he notice before that his dad was a World Class Chef, Soma said there weren't many clues at home, except for the photos of Jouichirou with foreigners and all the random phone calls in other languages, as he thought they were common things in every household. The others then reply "That should have clued him in".
- Cliffhanger: The Stinger ends with Jouichirou suddenly challenging Soma to a Shokugeki.
- Comically Missing the Point: The others assume Jouichirou truly is a badass former resident of the dorms because he wasn't weirded out by Isshiki being almost naked around the house. Shun lampshades this by asking why is that important.
- Delayed Reaction: When all the residents arrive to the kitchen, they find Jouichirou making dinner, who welcomes Soma by making him help with dinner, who only obeys out of custom. After a while, Soma realizes that his dad is there.
- Dramatic Irony: It's revealed that while Erina looks down on Soma, she looks up to Jouichirou, whom she met as a little girl. Since Erina believes a chef should always get it perfect right away, she chides Soma for his trial-and-error learning method. Yet she idolizes Jouichirou whose skill at cooking, unbeknownst to her, was nurtured through the same mindset. She has no clue they're related, and Soma has no clue either that she knows his dad.
- Evolving Credits: In the Opening Rising Rainbow, Megumi's vegetables are tomatoes.
- Goal in Life: After his Heel Realization with Megumi's dish, Koujirou decides to be the first Japanese chef in France to achieve three stars (likely the Michelin format) for his restaurant.
- Like Father, Like Son: As the girls were already starstruck by Jouichirou, they wonder if Soma will become this awesome when they grow up. They later confirm that they are from the same family when both father and son were enjoying one of his awful failed experiments.
- Male Gaze: The Polaris girls feel like being in Arabia with just tasting Jouichirou's food, complete with costumes.
- Noodle Incident: Jouchirou never explains why he didn't graduate from Tootsuki, even thought he was the Second Seat of the Elite Ten. He only handwaved the question by replying "A lot happened..."
- Pragmatic Adaptation: Jouichirou's arrival was changed to happen before the Karaage Wars miniarc and the Fall Classic announcement, so it would fit better with Erina and Gin suddenly remembering Jouichirou.
- Red Baron: Jouichirou was formerly known as the "Asura" (Demon in the translation) before marriage and parenthood mellowed him out.
- The Reveal: Jouichirou used to attend Tootsuki, lived in Polaris himself, and became the second seat on the Elite Ten, behind only Gin Doujima (also a Polaris resident) — and yet, never graduated. Soma finds out all this only now.
- At the camp, Doujima is suddenly reminded of Jouichirou while observing Soma and realizes that he is the former's son. It's revealed that Jouichirou went by the surname "Saiba" in the past (not even Soma knew this until Jouichirou told him) so nobody was able to connect the two immediately.
