The sixth Book of the game, starting from December 2021. Although there is a peace mending between Askr and Embla, villages in Askr and Embla are being consumed by darkness and isolated from the rest of the world. Investigating this phenomenon, the Order of Heroes cooperate with the dragon Askr's retainer Ash and Princess Veronica to find a solution to reverse it. However, a coup is being planned to get rid of Princess Veronica, and that the one responsible for the darkness in the first place is a power that rules over Embla: Elm, the dragon Embla's retainer, and Embla herself.

In April 2022, a video of the Summoner, Veronica, and Ash playing a remix of the book's theme was released here.

Tropes:

  • And Then What?: When Letizia gloats to a starving and defeated Veronica that she'll take over the empire after Veronica is executed, Veronica asks her what she'll do afterwards with all that power, causing Letizia to falter and then snap that it's not something Veronica needs to know about.
  • Badass Boast: Alfonse gives one to Letizia at the end of Chapter 5:
You don't seem to be hearing me. Why do you think I'm talking about this? Why to you? Why now? I'll tell you. I'm going to kill you too. You're in my way, so this is how it will have to be. No matter what it takes, my decision's been made. No hostage will save you. You cannot stop what's coming for you. Do you understand now?
  • Bittersweet Ending: Embla is stopped, breaking the curse on the royal family which means the war between Midgard's kingdoms is finally over. However, this peace came at the cost of Askr and Bruno's lives. Despite this, with the goddess gone, Veronica can finally be friends with Alfonse and Sharena, just like she always wanted.
  • Call-Back:
    • Alfonse references the events of Book III in Chapter 5 as part of his bluff that his kindly prince personality is actually an act. He claims to have murdered his father to attain the throne (Metaphorically True, but Gustav was asking for it), and his Badass Boast toward Letizia that she cannot harm him and he will kill her echoes his statement towards Hel.
    • Veronica brings up Seth's words to her from a Book I Paralogue where he told her that a good ruler should care for their people, and asks Letizia to take care of the Emblian populace after Veronica's death. This is unfortunately before Veronica realizes how depraved Letizia really is.
    • Askr references Líf and Thrasir, the founders of the Kingdom of Askr and the Emblian Empire, from whom the royal families are descended, in Chapter 9.
  • The Cavalry: Subverted in Chapter 6, where it seems like Zacharias/Bruno is going to find some way to save Veronica from her execution directly. However, while Bruno is aware of what's happened, Veronica is actually saved by the guards that were meant to execute her, who didn't believe Letizia's slander about Veronica and, after hearing Veronica's concern for her people, turned their allegiance towards Veronica instead.
  • Decadent Court: Initially mentioned in Book I, it's expanded upon here that framing members of the royal family is not unique to Bruno's case, with Veronica's father having framed Letizia's family for treason and stripped them of their royal powers.
  • Dub Induced Plothole: The end of Chapter 8 has Embla state that besides Veronica and Bruno, there are two others in front of her with her blood for her to possess, while Bruno exclaims "...Two others!?" and Veronica questions "...Wh-what?". However, in the Japanese version she states that the two others that have her blood besides the just-possessed Letizia are in front of her, that being Veronica and Bruno, and the both of them just have ellipses when they react. A later update in late-June 2022 corrects those lines with Embla stating that that the two of them have her blood without mentioning any others, with Bruno reacting with "...We two?".
Pre-update: You two... Yes, both of you... My blood runs in your veins, does it? Hmm... And you are not alone... I sense two others here carry my blood as well... How interesting...
Post-update: You two... Yes, both of you... My blood runs in your veins, does it? Hmm... With two here that have inherited my blood...
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Even though Askr and Embla are called dragons from their realms, they are considered Beast units in gameplay and do not transform into dragons at all.
  • Jerkass Gods: Implied, as Embla doesn't stop Elm from killing Emblian civilians or royals.
  • Last Request: As Bruno dies, he ask Alfonse to look after Veronica in his place.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Both Askr and Embla and their retainers are humanoid with animal traits. Ash, the retainer to the Askr, can transform into a bovine Beast, and has fluffy ears and a long tail in her humanoid form, while Elm, the retainer to Embla, can transform into a flying bat Beast, and has bat ears in his humanoid form.
  • Knee Fold Fall of Defeat: The midpoint movie ends with Alfonse and Veronica standing in the rain, with the implication that they've just fought. Veronica sheds a tear and then collapses to her knees, falling forwards flat onto the ground.
  • Metaphorically True: At the end of Chapter 5, Letizia mentions that Alfonse killed his father Gustav, with Alfonse not only stating that he did, but Gustav did abandon Alfonse during a crisis and Alfonse killed him with the intention that Gustav was in the way and Alfonse was the next in line for succession. While all of this is true, Alfonse leaves out the fact that both of Gustav's deaths were a Heroic Sacrifice and a Mercy Kill respectively, intentionally misleading Letizia into thinking that Alfonse is way more cold and ruthless than she realizes. This throws a wrench into her plans because she thought she'd be fighting a naïve prince, not a sociopath, and her confusion gives Alfonse a window to mount a counterattack.
  • Open and Shut: Embla's Power of the Void include sealing off parts of the world from the rest of it, with her retainer Elm setting up those voids in person to villages in Askr and Embla. However, Chapter 5 reveal that Askr's power can reverse this, with Ash being able to return things to normal, but being Cast From HP as the downside.
  • Out-of-Character Alert: In Chapter 9, after the normally reserved and level-headed Veronica starts pushing Askr to the party what they need to stop Embla, it tips them off that she's being possessed by Embla.
  • Power of the Void: It is revealed that in addition to closing portals, the Emblian royal family possesses the power to make things disappear from the current realm (and possibly from all of existence). Elm uses this power to wipe out an entire Askran village and parts of Embla, leaving nothing but a black crater in the ground leading down to nothingness.
  • Rewatch Bonus: The midpoint movie has Alfonse flashbacking to when he met Veronica and Zacharias/Bruno and lamenting that he has to kill Veronica before he actually does so, but players seeing the scene again after completing Book VI reveals that it wasn't just that he has to kill Veronica that he is lamenting, but also Zacharias/Bruno's death as well and his final wish to have Alfonse protect his little sister.
  • Someone Has to Die: There's a glaring issue in the plan to purge Embla from Bruno and Veronica with the Key of Yggdrasil, one that the Askrans miss in their optimism: there's only one Key for two people, and if Alfonse were forced to choose between the two of them, he'd pick his old friend Bruno/Zacharias. Bruno on the other hand fully grasps the implications, and because his life's mission is to purge Embla from Veronica, this outcome is unacceptable: he launches a ploy to make Embla and the Askrans think the Key has been disabled and commits Suicide by Cop, when in reality he snuck the Key to Veronica through Xander. Alfonse only realizes the truth after Bruno is dead. Fortunately, Embla does not.
  • Tempting Fate: In Chapter 11, Sharena optimistically says that once they defeat Embla, Zacharias will be able to return to Askr and no longer have to keep his distance from the royals. She asks Zacharias to promise they'll be friends like they used to be, and Zacharias does. Unfortunately, Zacharias dies by the end of the chapter.
  • World Tree: The World Tree Yggdrasil appears during the midpoint of Book VI, where it is connected to all 9 realms and is the home of the dragon Askr, the god of connections and close bonds.
