Tropes:

  • Big Applesauce: As seen by the name, Gilgamesh is holding a tournament in New York City, reasoning that it's the only city in the modern world worthy of him.
  • Historical In-Joke: Caesar's financial troubles reference how he racked up massive amounts of debt during his early political career, to the point where if he'd lost the election for Pontifex Maximus he would've had to flee Rome to escape his creditors.
  • Hypocrite: Gilgamesh is holding the event in New York City because he felt Nerofest was old fashioned for being held in the Colosseum which the protagonist notes is hilarious considering Archer Gilgamesh's well known dislike of the modern world.
  • Mythology Gag: One of Sheba's line when rolling the lottery is asking if you have enough items stocked up, referencing Shirou's taunt to Gilgamesh in the climax of the Unlimited Blade Works route
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: The entire reason Gilgamesh took over Nerofest is because Caesar had such a huge debt that Caesar let Gilgamesh take all the money that Nero had saved up over the year reasoning that since he started the Roman Empire, all the money saved up is his to spend.
  • The Pollyanna: Nero is unexpectedly excited at Gilgamesh's tournament despite Gilgamesh taking all of her money and cancelling Nerofest. The only reason for her shedding tears and getting upset over it at all being that she hadn't thought of moving it to New York herself.
  • Say My Name: Nero screams "JULIUS!" when it's revealed Caesar caused Gilgamesh to take over Nerofest.
  • To Be a Master: Gilgamesh's reason for hosting the Battle in New York is to find the strongest Servant.
  • Why Didn't I Think of That?: Once Nero calms down from her initial outrage of having her treasury plundered and NeroFest stolen, she embraces the new location for the event with gusto, wondering why she was so narrow-minded on keeping the festivities in her Colosseum in the first place.
