While trying to get his stash of porn back from his deceased mother's house (which has been bought by another family), Peter finds a video message he made when he was a teenager to play when he's an adult. Upset that Peter didn't do anything he planned on doing when he was younger, he tries to make Chris more successful than he could ever hope to be...and Brian ends up taking Chris under his wing.

- Brick Joke: Quagmire says that a man's Porn Stash is sacred until he decides to dump it behind a Kroger's. After Peter is done viewing his porn collection, he asks Brian if Brian wants to take a ride to behind the Kroger's.
- E = MC Hammer: As a part of a montage of Brian getting Chris more cultured, a large blackboard with a very complex mathematical equation is seen. Chris answers it with a large triangular scribble, identical to his attempt at a nude drawing earlier in the montage. Brian looks at his math book and sees that is the correct answer.
- Know-Nothing Know-It-All: Brian, unsurprisingly, really shows it at the book club.
- Self-Deprecation: Past Peter plays some Conway Twitty. Present Peter complains it's annoying, which echoes the complaints many people have of the Running Gag.
- Shout-Out: Brian takes Chris to Shakespeare In The Park, but Chris ignores it in favor of watching 2 Broke Girls In The Park instead.
- Stating the Simple Solution: Peter plots to steal his old porn stash stowed in his mom's old house with Cleveland, Quagmire and Joe. The new owner catches them outside his house planning to break in, then states that they could have just asked, as he doesn't want his kids finding it.
- Take That!: A gag has Chris upset that he bought a Nook e-reader a couple of years ago and is "still pissed about it." A brief ad is then shown, in which Nook apologizes to everyone.
- We Want Our Jerk Back!: Peter wanted to make Chris a success and let him hang out with Brian to be a more successful person, but ends up missing Chris being a Fat Idiot like him.
