In the aftermath of Vergil's attack on Fairy Tail, Dante comes clean with the guild and reveals his family history.
- Big "WHAT?!": Fairy Tail's response to Dante casually revealing Sparda is his father.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Poor, poor Dante. First, his father died while out on a mission, then his home is attacked by demons for revenge against his father, which resulted in the death of his mother, and him being separated from Vergil, with the implication that he initially assumed his brother had died. He reunited with his brother years later... after he had become a power hungry maniac, with all of their subsequent encounters ending in a fight like the one Fairy Tail witnessed.
- For Want Of A Nail: Unlike canon, Trish and Vergil have actually crossed paths here.
Word of God says he has his own original timeline for the events of the Devil May Cry side of things. - He Is Not My Boyfriend: Dante and Trish are both annoyed at people insinuating they are, or were, in a relationship.
- Might Makes Right: Vergils core belief, as Dante tells Fairy Tail, who vehemently disagree.
- Mr. Exposition: Dante explains not only his past and rivalry with his brother, but some of the abilities of his Rebellion and Vergil's Yamato.
- The Nose Knows: Part of why Natsu is so quick to accept Vergil is Dante's brother is because of how similar their scents are.
- Sore Loser: Both Natsu and Gray are still sore at Vergil beating them, and are eager for a rematch.
