Whack Job
The team goes after the killer of a man in witness protection but finds there's more to the case than meets the eye.
Tropes:
- Asshole Victim: Ralph Fazzini was leeching money off of Jeannine. Tripp Anderson dumped his girlfriend Kyra McCall for his bartender.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Officer Janine Viano at first appears to be a caring stepmother towards Bailey, but it is later revealed she sees Bailey as "bratty".
- Broken Pedestal: Janine's boss Lieutenant Caudle and her partner Justin Hill are dismayed to learn how far she has fallen.
- Central Theme: Sometimes, the people closest to you cause the most pain. Bailey is devastated to learn that her stepmother was behind everything. Justin is dismayed to learn how far his partner and training officer has fallen. Remy recounts how his relationship with his mother has been strained after his brother's murder.
- Domestic Abuse: What Officers Janine Viano and Justin Hill are shown to deal with.
- Guile Hero: Once Officer Justin Hill saw the defensive wounds on Janine and realized that the FBI was right about her, he secretly removed the magazine from Janine's gun, jammed a paper clip on top of the magazine, and cleared a round from the chamber. Aware that the FBI won't know if he is friend or foe, Justin stayed in the car and used the brake lights to communicate to the team in Morse code that Janine was disarmed and no longer a threat. Remy and the team are impressed and commend Justin for keeping a cool head.

- You Have Failed Me: Janine strangles Kyra when she fails to poison Bailey in the hospital.
- You Should Have Died Instead: Remy's mother said this to him soon after his brother died, and their relationship has been horribly strained every since.
