The team investigate a series of homicides tied to a forbidden love between a young teen and her older boyfriend.

- Corrupt Church: Covenant Church is revealed to be fundamentalist cult led by a misogynistic rapist where wives are brainwashed into submitting to their husbands. It is also revealed to be a front for Pat Mitchell aka Vivian Daniels who is using the church to run a pyramid scheme on its parishioners.
- Dark and Troubled Past: While bonding with the team over drinks in the end, Remy reveals how his younger brother's murder motivated him to pursue a career in the FBI.Remy: "It changed my life, you know. After Mikey... I just... I just got real. Three months later, I was at Quantico, and I've been with the bureau ever since."Ivan: "That's why you do what you do."Remy: "Yes it is. Every bad guy I catch... I do it for him."
- Hidden Depths: From Hana seeing Remy taking pills before going out on mission to Ivan noticing tattoos on Remy's forearms, it seems that the team's new boss Remy has secrets of his own.
- Hoist by Their Own Petard: After forcing Bob to wire the church's money to a secret bank account, Pat used that same bank account to rent a car. The team is able to trace the account and the car's GPS to track Pat to the apartment where she is holding Lillie prisoner, enabling them to rescue Lillie and arrest Pat.
- Jurisdiction Friction: Averted. Once Remy convinces undercover IRS agent Mel Montridge that they could help each other, Mel is more than happy to reveal everything she has found about Covenant's fraudulent practices which helps the team uncover the church's dark secrets.
- Nice to the Waiter: In his Establishing Character Moment, Remy is shown to be friendly to both the owner of his favorite pastry and sandwich shop and to the manager of his apartment building, whom he bought a pastrami sandwich and cannoli for.
- Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: Pastor Bob has raped at least two teenage girls, possibly more, getting one of them pregnant.
- Self-Made Orphan: Lillie Jones and her boyfriend Jeremy Hamm are both manipulated by Pastor Bob and Pat to have their parents killed so they could be together.
- Sinister Minister: Pastor Bob is a fundamentalist misogynist and rapist who embezzles money from his parishioners. His wife Pat aka Vivian Daniels is also revealed to be one, using Covenant as a front to run a pyramid scheme.

- Undercover Cop Reveal: The Fugitive Task Force is investigating a fundamentalist church and getting the runaround from the pastor and his wife. However, Remy picks up something off about one of the parishioners and confronts her when she leaves. She reveals that she is an undercover investigator for the IRS, and is investigating the church for fraud. She is able to provide the task force with some of the missing information.

- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Pat shot her husband Bob in the head after forcing him to wire the church's money to a secret bank account. She does the same to Jeremy after manipulating him to kill anyone who could testify against her.
