Zane is angry that Jo dropped out of the Astreus mission.

Jo: ...Oh. Yes, she can. - Chekhov's Gun:
- Taggart's bats, genetically altered to excrete compounds used in fuel. When it reacts with xylene, it forms a super-acid. The bats escape, and are none too careful about where they crap...
- Allison's hologram device for communicating with Titan. Carter uses it to tell Andy where to stand to be beamed home.
- Did You Just Have Sex?: S.A.R.A.H. is very cheerful after a night with Andy.Jo: Well, she can't be busy!
Andy: [Appears from side room]
Jo: Oh. Yes she can! - Heroic Sacrifice: Andy gets beamed to Titan after knocking Carter out of the way. Carter would have instantly died on Titan, but Andy lasts about six hours before being rescued in the nick of time.
- Innocently Insensitive: Carter offends SARAH by referring to her as "my house" as if she's property and not a person. He apologises later after realising how much SARAH and Andy care for each other.Carter: We're gonna have to lay down some ground rules for these sleepovers, all right?
SARAH: Will those rules also apply to you and Dr. Blake?
Carter: Uh, no, 'cause we're human, and it's my house.
Andy: [Downcast] Oh. Okay. Well, I guess I better get ready for work, then. [Leaves]
Jo: That wasn't very nice.
Carter: Well, come on. It's not like the toaster has guys sleep over. [Sudden loud grinding noise]
Jo: SARAH, what was that?
SARAH: Sheriff carter's breakfast accidentally fell into the garbage disposal.
Carter: Oh! Very mature! - I Will Wait for You: Averted, Jo tells Zane that she has to figure herself out first and can't make that sort of promise to him.
- Red Herring: At first, it seems Dr. Parrish is sabotaging the primary Astreus team in order to get on the mission. He isn't.
- Running Gag: One of the objects melted is of course Carter's Jeep.
- Shout-Out: When Taggart and Carter find the bats.Carter: Holy cow, Batman!
- What Measure Is a Non-Human?: Both Andy and SARAH as well as their relationship feature strongly in the episode.
- Working with the Ex: Taggart is back in town, just as Jo and Zane have problems again.
- Yank the Dog's Chain: Dr. Parrish is disappointed at being a substitute. He gets on the team, then slips in Carter's melted Jeep and breaks his leg.Dr. Parrish: For five seconds I was a real astronaut!
