Naomi has second thoughts about her place in the Grand Council after she reunites with her childhood friend Veronica, who convinces her to become the captain of her own ship.

- Armor-Piercing Question: Naomi misses the freedom of being at sea, to which Veronica asks her what she really wants — to stay in Avalor or to fulfill her dreams?

- By the time Naomi returns from the mission, she finds that Veronica has already left, has left her hat and Naomi's letter with a note saying that she'll be there for her when she finally decides to pursue her dream.
- At the end of the episode, Naomi personally tells Elena that she's resigning from the Grand Council so that she can achieve her dream of being the captain of her own ship and destiny. Elena is supportive and gives her her own ship, but is clearly troubled from losing another member of her familia.
- Chekhov's Gunman: Chatana, after being namedropped in "Not Without My Magic", appears in person.
- Continuity Nod:
- From "Sugar Rush", the hydrogondolas are now in public use and Elena asks for Naomi's help in sorting out what would usually be Esteban's paperwork.
- Esteban seems to be having trouble with plants again.
- "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: Elena lampshades that Naomi should've been with her and Mateo when she was needed—then the situation with the Chiki-Chiki could've been avoided.Elena: None of this would've happened if you had been here when we needed you!
- Laughing Mad: Mateo gets cursed with an eternal laughing fit by the Chiki-Chiki, which he says hurts a lot and he's shown clutching his stomach in pain.
- Missed Him by That Much: Elena, Mateo, and Skylar are too distracted by the Chiki-Chiki getting set free to notice Chatana and Pili also appearing from the smoke, leaving them blissfully unaware that another evil sorceress is loose.
- Not Quite the Right Thing: Naomi chooses to leave to pursue her own dreams, despite Elena telling her that she's needed (with her being their best translator for Old Maruvian runes, for instance) and that Elena certainly needs all the help she can get to stop Team Ash...

- Wham Episode: Naomi resigns from the Grand Council to sail the world and Chatana joins Team Ash.
