Go To

Original air date: 8/15/2010 (produced in 2008)note

It's Dora's birthday, and Dora and Boots are in the Magic Storybook where they've been on really great adventures. But when they end up in Wizzle World, Dora and Boots are sent on an epic journey to take their magic wishing crystal to the Wishing Wizzle on Wizzle Mountain! Help them remember their friends to get past obstacles, a mean witch, and other things so they can get to the Wizzle on time so he can wish them home to the rainforest in time for the party!

Tropes:

  • Arc Words: "Remember your/my/our friends," which is what Dora had to do in order to get to the Wishing Wizzle so she can get home to the rainforest.
  • Birthday Episode: Set on Dora's birthday.
  • The Bus Came Back: After being absent for a whole season and a half, Dora's cousin Daisy returns as a guest to her birthday party and part of her memories.
  • Chekhov's Skill: When in any kind of danger, Dora asks the magic crystal to remember her friends and it presents a flashback to an earlier episode: Dora then uses the technique from said flashback to get out of that danger.
  • Continuity Cavalcade: The "We're Going Home" song is very much a Clip Show showing flashbacks of several episodes of the series up to now. Even the Travel Song features Dora and Boots reenacting several of their past adventures.
  • Crowded-Cast Shot: Shots at Dora's birthday party show a large amount of characters, consisting of a majority of family and friends Dora helped.
  • Extra-Long Episode: The eighth in the series, and the final installment of the Magic Storybook trilogy.
  • Everybody Do the Endless Loop: The dancing during the "Good Luck" song is noticeably looped and repetitive.
  • Flashback with the Other Darrin: When the flashbacks of "Sticky Tape", "Dora Saves the Mermaids", and "The Big Storm" were shown through the crystal, the characters' voices were redubbed by the new voice actors at the time.
  • Make a Wish: The Wishing Wizzle has the ability to grant wishes to whoever visits him; Dora and Boots had to wish themselves back home to the rainforest.
  • No-Sell: You cannot jump out of the Magic Storybook through the Wizzle World chapter; the only way out is if the Wishing Wizzle wishes you home.
  • Portal Book: The Magic Storybook, as per its past two usages, allows Dora and Boots to jump into its pages and back; however, they can't jump out through Wizzle World.
  • The Power of Friendship: After the crystal is destroyed by La Bruja, the Wishing Wizzle realizes there may be another way to make it work if Dora wishes for the help of all her friends — those she helped and those whom helped her in return. This causes all of Dora's friends to wish her home and the crystal reactivates, sending Dora and Boots back to the rainforest where she reunites with everyone.
  • The Reveal: The magic crystal Dora had throughout the Magic Storybook Trilogy — first discovered by Sabrina before becoming the Snow Princess — is the Wishing Wizzle's wishing crystal.
  • Special Edition Title: This is the third episode to use a special intro.
  • Special Guest: Rosie Perez as La Bruja, Hector Alonso as the Wishing Wizzle, and John Leguizamo as the Flying Monkeys.
  • Wicked Witch: La Bruja, the Big Bad of the special who despises wishes, and is responsible for stealing the wishing crystal and throwing it out of Wizzle World, leading it to land in the Snowy Forest where it was found by the Snow Princess.
