  • Beam-O-War: Between Dora and the Greedy King as she is trying to get the red crystal from him.
  • Big Bad: The Greedy King. He hates sharing and wants everything to himself, so he steals the crystals and hides them so no one can share them.
  • Call-Back: When Allie notices Dora's crystal, she says she got it from the Snowy Forest when she saved the Snow Princess.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The magical artifacts Dora, Boots, and Allie receive come into full use when they need to use everything they learn to get the final crystal from the Greedy King. • Extra-Long Episode: The seventh in the series and the second of the Magic Storybook trilogy.
  • Heel–Face Turn: The Greedy King undergoes this after seeing how much everyone shares the colors of thr Crystal Kingdom, prompting him to do the same by giving Allie his crown, making her queen.
  • Power Glows: Dora's crystal flashes in rainbow colors when summoning Allie from the book and whenever the Snow Princess calls her. It only does that as long as there is still color left in the Crystal Kingdom, and it's not long until all the colors disappear that the glowing stops completely.
  • Race Against the Clock: There's only a matter of time before all the color fades from Crystal Kingdom. The timer is not a clock, it's Dora's crystal necklace.
  • Special Edition Title: This is the second episode to use a special intro.
  • Special Guest: Richard Kind as the Greedy King.
  • Triumphant Reprise: The "Crystal Kingdom" song becomes more celebratory and triumphant after all the crystals have been returned and Allie becomes queen.
