Be Careful What You Wish For: DK sets the conflict in motion when he absentmindedly remarks, "I wish I could sleep forever" next to the Crystal Coconut. This puts him into an constant slumber.
Kiss of Life: DK accidentally wishes he could sleep forever and ends up doing just that. He is eventually awoken when K. Rool accidentally kisses him while having apples in his eyes.
Literal Metaphor: When asking Inka Dinka Doo how to undo DK's wish, he tells them that a "kiss from the apple in his eye". They think this means a kiss from Candy, but it doesn't work. Later, K. Rool accidentally kisses DK's cheek when apples blind him (It Makes Sense in Context) does he wake up.
Of Corpse He's Alive: The sleeping variation is used, to try and trick K. Rool and his minions into thinking DK's awake, Diddy puppets DK's arms while he's wearing glasses with fake eyes on them and the sleeping DK is standing upright. It almost works until K. Rool barges into the cabin and the glasses fall off.
Surveillance as the Plot Demands: After learning that time has stopped, K. Rool uses his computer to look into what's happening at Cranky's cabin, in the same manner as his video conferences with Klump.
Time Stands Still: This episode has an interesting variation. Thanks to DK's wish the flow of time has stopped and the sun is frozen in the sky, but the rest of the characters are unaffected. Cranky Kong is tipped off that something is wrong when a flower he's observing that only blooms for five seconds a year stays open too long.
Two Scenes, One Dialogue: The song "Wake Up!" sees Diddy and Candy trying to awaken the sleeping Donkey Kong in Cranky's Cabin, while K. Rool tries to wake up Klump and Krusha in his lair.
