Recap / Dogs In Space E 1 S 9 Leave It

Go To

A falling out forces Kira to take drastic measures for her plan to come to fruition, and takes Garbage, Happy and Jerry out of the picture. Now on a planet with a powerful magnetic force, the three must find a way off, or at least send a distress call for pickup.

Back at the M-Bark, Garbage's friends catch wind of Kira and attempt to chase her down before it's too late.

Leave it contains examples of:

  • Brought Down to Normal: Kira's machine takes away the intelligence from dogs it affects, turning them into regular dogs.
  • Do Wrong, Right: Atlus knows that the crew of the Pluto should not be sneaking out, but he does help them anyway and tells them that they need to figure out what planet Happy and Garbage landed on in order to rescue them. While Chonies is willing to search every planet, Atlas brings a tracking log to narrow the search.
  • Enemy Mine: The remaining members of the Pluto crew team up with Atlus in order to rescue their captains. They are technically on the same "side" but since none of them get along with Atlus or Happy, then it counts.
    • Zig-Zaged for Happy and Garbage, as while they do agree on some things, they still have it out for each other.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Garbage discovers that the magnetic planet's fireflies give off a static that can create a projective message across the galaxy. He and Happy then see several messages from humans contacting their dogs. After learning about one of the humans, Garbage catches a jar full to take back to the M-Bark.
  • Hope Spot: With Garbage, Happy, and Jasper picked up by Nomi, Chonies, and Atlas, the Pluto takes off... only for it to be pulled back to the magnetic planet.
  • Personal Hate Before Common Goals: Happy won't let Garbage help him fix the ship due to his hatred of Garbage as he still thinks that Garbage is a traitor.
  • Wham Line: After Garbage shows Happy what the fireflies can do, they pinpoint their frequency to Earth and discover many humans calling out to their dogs across the stars. They then see a message from a PRATS scientist named Olga, vowing to continue contacting her own dog even after losing her. But it's the last part of the message that shocks them.
Olga: Be a good girl... Kira.
    Garbage and Happy: KIRA?!
