Gideon: "One man's wilderness is another man's theme park." Author unknown.
Two UnSubs hunt humans in the forest for sport, using bow and arrow. This is a family tradition started by their uncle.
Tropes present in this episode:
- Action Survivor: Bobbi's scenes play out as if they were like this, showing her turning from scared and panicky to deciding to defend herself against the UnSubs.
- Creepy Souvenir: The UnSubs' uncle collected his victims' driver's licenses.
- Damsel Fight-and-Flight Response: The Damsel in Distress decides to fight back against a pair of Siblings in Crime when she gets ahold of a knife. She manages to stab one repeatedly, then after a little baiting, waits for the other one in a tree, pouncing on him when he gets close, stabbing him twice in the back. She then gets off of him and runs away, not remembering taking his bow away and leaving him very pissed off. Lucky for her the FBI arrived Just in Time.
- Didn't See That Coming: The UnSubs don't know what to do with themselves when a victim stops running and fights back.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: After Bobbi stabs Johnny multiple times, his brother tries to tend to his wounds and he promises to get back at Bobbi for what she did.
- The Family That Slays Together: The Mulfords were this when Joe was still alive, but eventually turn into a villainous Sibling Team.
- He Who Fights Monsters: Discussed by Emily on the planeride home.
- The Hunter Becomes the Hunted: Bobbi, the latest would-be victim for the UnSubs, eventually decides that she's had enough and fights back against them. She badly injures one and mortally wounds the other.
- Hunting the Most Dangerous Game: The M.O. of the Mulfords.
- Lack of Empathy: The Mulfords take take joy in hunting their victims. They both laugh as they watch Heather fruitlessly try to save Luke after being shot in the chest.
- Oh, Crap!: One of the Unsubs when Bobbi gets close enough to exact some Extreme Mêlée Revenge with a knife.
- Sole Survivor: Bobbi out of the trio that formed during her attempts to survive.
- The Straight and Arrow Path: The preferred choice for the hunting family.
- Taking You with Me: When finally cornered by the BAU, the last UnSub tries to kill Bobbi regardless. The BAU riddle him with bullets before he can.
- Prentiss: British historian James Anthony Froude once said, "Wild animals never kill for sport. Man is the only one to whom the torture and death of his fellow creature is amusing in itself."
