- Blatant Lies: Riley, the police chief's daughter, gets targeted and when Matt, the UnSub, wants her to do her cheerleading routine, she tells him the pompoms are in the closet in her dad's bedroom. He catches on just in time to grab the rifle from her, and the shot goes off at the ceiling.
- False Reassurance: Lewis talks the UnSub, holding his last victim at knifepoint, into lowering his guard. The moment she has a clean shot, she takes it.
- Teens Are Monsters: The UnSub is still in high school.
