After Craig spies on a scary movie Bernard watched with his friends, the same creature is found out in the creek.
The Tropes in "Creature Feature" involves:
- Action Girl: Bernard's girlfriend Alexis bravely attacks the swamp monster when everyone else is screaming in fear.
- Calvinball: Craig and his friends play "Tree Golf". It seems to be like regular golf, but Craig says he scored by ricocheting his ball off both Mark and Barry.
- Carcass Sleeping Bag: Parodied when Amina slits open a large teddy bear for J.P. to hide inside from the creature; J.P. acts as if she just gutted a live animal.
- Clingy Costume: The creature is actually Creek Elder David in a costume. He couldn't speak through the mask and his gloves made it impossible to take it off.
- Comically Missing the Point: This exchange between Gibson and Elder David after the latter explains why he was in the Swamp Monster costume:Gibson: Sounds to me like you played yourself.Elder David: No, I played the swamp monster.
- Foreshadowing: During the trio's tree golf game, Mark and Barry are seen looking for something. This later turns out to be the device Craig found, which was the thumb drive where they had their fan film stored.
- Kids Shouldn't Watch Horror Films: Craig sneaks down to the living room while Bernard and his friends are watching a horror movie and is scared by the monster in the film.
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Bernard points out the lines he has around his body from shaking with fear.
- Not So Above It All: Bernard reluctantly admits that he's scared, too.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Cariss apparently could tell it was just David in a costume, but instead of telling everyone else she went and got a smoothie.
- Shout-Out:
- The monster is based on Gill-Man.
- When going to answer the door, Cariss calls herself L'il Butler.
- In the fan movie the Elders are making, the main girl falls in love with the monster.
- The above mentioned scene with J.P. having to get inside a teddy bear references a similar scene in Midsommar.
