Kelsey, Wildernessa, and Stacks go on the hunt for a missing ferret, but Kelsey is worried her friends might like each other more than her.

Tropes:

  • Balloon Belly: Craig and J.P. get these after gorging themselves on pastrami sandwiches.
  • Bilingual Bonus: Stacks and Wildernessa speak Spanish to each other, leaving Kelsey feeling even more left out.
  • Box-and-Stick Trap: Craig makes one to catch the ferret. Although his attempts to lure it fail, the ferret ends up being chased into it.
  • But I Read a Book About It: Craig applies what he read on Slide the Ferret comics and games to try and catch a real ferret.
  • Disguised in Drag: Played with. Craig and J.P. decide to use a sock puppet of a female ferret to lure the ferret into a trap. J.P. remarks that the ferret might like guy ferrets, so they make a muscular male puppet as well. They end up making two more ambiguously gendered puppets because there are "all kinds of ferrets in the world".
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Once she says her feelings out loud, Kelsey starts to realize how selfish and inconsiderate she's being to Stacks, which Stacks calls her out on.
  • Expy: Slide the Ferret is one of Sonic the Hedgehog.
  • Freeze-Frame Ending: The episode ends on a Pastel-Chalked Freeze Frame as the group gets ready to embark on the next quest - returning the ferret to Elder Mark.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Kelsey is mad that Stacks came along with Wildernessa and is taking up the latter's attention, as she expected to be able to keep her friends separate. Once she says her feelings out loud, Kelsey starts to realize how selfish and inconsiderate she's being to Stacks, which Stacks calls her out on.
  • Hand Puppet: Craig and J.P. use their socks to try to lure the ferret with potential mates.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Craig tries to lure the ferret by using the favorite food of video game hero Slide the Ferret, pastrami on rye. The sandwiches smell so good, Craig and J.P. eat them all instead, and need a new plan.
  • Ninja Prop:
    • When Kelsey texts Craig, J.P. is seen interacting with the onscreen text messages.
    • After Craig builds a replica of level one of the Slide the Ferret game, a start screen appears behind him and J.P. Suddenly, the ferret rips through the screen, followed by Wildernessa and Cheesesticks.
  • Ship Tease: After Stacks calls her out for her jealousy and for never inviting her anywhere, Kelsey apologizes and reveals how much their conversations mean to her.
  • Sudden Video-Game Moment: Slide the Ferret appears again, this time with an Imagine Spot of Craig and J.P. chasing him through a game level. J.P. uses his sleeves as a helicopter like Tails. Instead of rings dropping when he gets hit, Craig drops triangles.
  • Suddenly Bilingual: It turns out Wildernessa can speak Spanish just as well as Stacks.
  • They're Called "Personal Issues" for a Reason: Parodied; Stacks abruptly asks Wildernessa why she wears a mask made out of a Teddy bear. Despite Kelsey saying not to pry, Wildernessa gladly explains its origin. Afterward, Kelsey asked where Cheesesticks' name comes from, and Wildernessa bluntly replies that it's personal.
  • Trail Of Breadcrumbs: Craig and J.P. create a trail of pastrami sandwiches to try to lure the ferret into their trap. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work due to them eating all of the sandwiches themselves.
  • Viewer-Friendly Interface: The text messages between Stacks and Kelsey are shown onscreen as video game-style text boxes with icons of the sender's face.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: After Kelsey yells at Stacks for spending time with Wildernessa, Stacks gets angry because Kelsey never invites her on adventures and only needs her when books are involved.
