The Decepticons have found the Ark, and are racing to destroy it. The Grand Alliance mobilize to defend their home, but will they win?
- All Your Base Are Belong to Us: The Decepticons, having learnt for the Ark's exact location in Chapter 4, launch a massive full scale assault on the Autobot ship, intending to destroy it and everyone on board. The heroes end up repelling this attack and escaping them, sending the Nemesis crashing into the spot where the Ark was.
- Battle in the Center of the Mind: Downplayed. Due to Optimus’ Geass, Anya started remembering who she was before Marianne took over, which allowed her to wrestle control of her body from Marianne.
- Big Badass Battle Sequence: The chapter has virtually every named character that is part of the Alliance and Decepticons engaged in a battle to save/destroy the Ark. Even Rivalz, Milly, and Shirley take part in the fight via remote turrets.
- Character Death:
- Skywarp is vaporized via the Agravain's Hadron Cannons.
- Frenzy gets decapitated by Sayoko.
- Headlock is impaled through the Spark by Undertone.
- Quake and Groundpounder are incinerated when the engines of the Ark reactivate.
- Defeating the Undefeatable: This is the first time the Decepticons have been delivered an irrefutable defeat in the entire story.
- Difficult, but Awesome: The Omniglobe allows Lelouch to watch multiple battles simultaneously so he can best coordinate the Autobot-Black Knight Alliance everywhere. He himself notes, though, that doing so puts such a heavy mental strain on him it's a double-edged sword. Not many strategists can bring victory to more than one concurrent battlefield; Lelouch can and does.
- Heel Realization: At the end of the battle, Marianne, due to Optimus’ Geass affecting Anya, begins to feel regret over what she has done.
- Internal Reveal: Lelouch, Nunnally, and Euphemia all learn that Schneizel collaborated with Megatron to cause the fall of Britannia.
- Laser-Guided Karma: At the end of the battle, the Nemesis ends up crashing into the same spot the Ark was occupying, only now it's immersed in lava.
- Mission Control: Stepping away from his usual role as a Frontline General, Lelouch takes command for this particular battle from the Omniglobe, a Cybertronian capsule that allows him to view the skirmish from multiple vectors.
- Motive Rant: Schneizel gives a subdued one where he tells his half-siblings why he betrayed Britannia and joined the Decepticons, explicitly bringing up The Evils of Free Will. All of them tell him off for siding with the Decepticons.
- Punch Catch: Undertone catches Headlock's punch with his own hand, allowing him to mop the floor with him before finishing him off.
- Shout-Out:
- Rai brings to mind Shipmaster Rtas Vadum'ee at the beginning of the fight.Jetfire: Seekers incoming! They outnumber us three to one.
Rai: Then it's an even fight. - Optimus' rebuttal to Megatron is that he would rather hear whatever secrets Cera has from her lips, not Megatron's. A touched Cera promises that someday, she'll tell him everything.
- Rai brings to mind Shipmaster Rtas Vadum'ee at the beginning of the fight.
- Shut Up, Hannibal!: Two examples.
- Optimus shuts down every attempt Megatron makes to break him verbally. Prime even reveals that he knows C.C. is keeping a few secrets from him, he's just waiting for her to divulge them on her own.
- Lelouch, Nunnally, and Euphemia all tell off Schneizel for willingly siding with the Decepticons.
- Smooch of Victory: After the Ark flies off, several of the citizens celebrate their victory by kissing happily.
- Tears of Joy: Many of the civilians (including Akari Kozuki) and some of the Black Knights (like Chigusa, Nunnally, and Euphemia) were crying happily after surviving a grueling battle and handing the Decepticons their first completely irrefutable defeat.
- Unstoppable Force Meets Immovable Object: This is described as the clash between Megatron and Optimus' Geass powers. Megatron's serves as the unstoppable force while Optimus' is the immovable object.
- Underestimating Badassery: Soundwave's Mini-Con team laughed at the notion that they can be stopped by three Mini-Cons and one "meatbag" (Sayoko). Then turrets operated by Shirley, Milly, and Rivalz, plus Misty Ix in an Akatsuki, join in the battle, which ends with Sayoko slicing off Frenzy's head, Headlock stabbed through the Spark, and the Decepticons retreating.
- Villainous Breakdown: At the end of the battle, when the Nemesis has crashed in the same spot the Ark previously was and is heavily damaged, Megatron realizes that Lelouch was the one responsible for this defeat, since Optimus couldn't have coordinated his forces while fighting him. This leads to Megatron slamming his fist on his damaged controls and letting out a yell of frustration that echoes throughout the whole ship.
- Villain Respect: In a sharp contrast to the above, Schneizel simply offers a quiet "Well played." in response to Lelouch coordinating a clear-cut victory against the Decepticons.
- You Shall Not Pass!: Spoken word for word by Drift to Knock Out when the Decepticon doctor makes an attempt at the Ark's shield generator.
