Everyone except Aelita goes on a mission to discover who tried to hack the supercomputer on Aelita's birthday.
This episode contains examples of:
- Birthday Episode: The episode is set on Aelita's birthday, though they don't get to celebrate it, and Aelita never acknowledges that it's her birthday at all, just that Odd reads a poem to her of unknown reasons. This may be a reference to Lab Rat, where Jérémie never tells Aelita when her new birthday is, though Odd later makes a comment later in this episode that implies that she does know.
- Forced Friendly Fire: Yumi devirtualises Aelita after Jérémie leaves the lab upset at him nearly plunging Yumi into the digital sea in an attempt to fix the supercomputer. Aelita tries to find Jérémie, but is distracted by Yumi noticing an activated tower.
- Manipulative Bastard: XANA sets a trap for Jérémie and Aelita to follow that has the data be encrypted in the same way Hopper would. Jérémie assumes that Aelita's mother may have tried to hack them, but doesn't confirm this, and so Yumi and Odd go on the Skid to check it out. XANA literally grabs the skid, implants malicious code into the suiper computer, and leaves Jérémie deeply regretful at falling for such a stupid ploy, and now they have no superscanner, meaning he cannot find activated towers. Resolved by the end of the episode, but the Skid is still destroyed, and requires some build time.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Jérémie wanted to surprise Aelita with information on her mother, but XANA laid a trap for them, grabs the Skidblandnir, and forces the crew to devirtualise once Aelita returns to fix that process. XANA even succeeds in taking down the superscanner to make it borderline impossible for the Lyoko Warriors to determine enemy numbers and such.
- Narrative Poem: Odd's poem at the start of the episode is written like one of these.
- Near-Villain Victory: XANA succeeds in destroying the Skidbladnir, and it will take Jérémie 10 days to program a new one, however the group do succeed in reversing all his hacks to the superscan, as well as fending off enemies.
- No Plans, No Prototype, No Backup: Yumi and William are forced to go it alone on Lyoko as Aelita and Odd are chased by XANA!Hertz, Ulrich is attempting to distract said specter, and Jérémie is trying to get the superscanner working again.
- Pun: "We're in a bit of a pinch", says Ulrich in response to a massive claw grabbing the Skid.
