Chuck Versus the Angel de la Muerte is the third episode of Chuck's third season.
After Captain Awesome performs life-saving surgery on Premier Alejandro Fulgencio Goya, Team Bartowski has to protect him as he plans to announce elections for his home country of Costa Gravas and is thusly targeted by the Ring.
This episode provides examples of:
- AB Negative: It turns out both General Goya and John Casey have this blood type. Guess who has to save whom with it?
- Chair Reveal: Done twice:
- One straight (Awesome waiting for Chuck in his room).
- One subverted (Chuck reciprocating... on the patio... with a lounge chair... that he has to push by foot).
- Cliffhanger: Awesome has one last patient to see before going home. It's the assassin from earlier... and he has a syringe. Cut to Sarah approaching Chuck with some terrible news. As they hug, Ellie comes out side and asks if they've seen Devon.
- I Can't Dance: Subverted, thanks to the Intersect 2.0.
- Impairment Shot: Casey, waking up in Castle after losing blood.
- Hypocritical Humor: Chuck has to remind Awesome to take things seriously and focus on the mission, not to be a hero, not to touch anything in their secret base... basically, everything that Chuck himself had to be constantly told not to do in seasons previous.
- Running Gag: The dramatically-over-pronounced "EL ANGHEL DE LA MUERTE!"
- What Happened to the Mouse?: The assassin. He fails to assassinate Goya and kidnaps Awesome to set up "Chuck Versus Operation Awesome", but isn't seen or heard from again.
