Go To

Luo Binghe decides to learn demonic cultivation in secret. The Immortal Alliance Conference draws near.

  • Always Someone Better: As Luo Binghe improves in his skills, Ming Fan gradually finds himself being overshadowed and upstaged by the former.
  • Blatant Lies: After Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe properly wake up, Shen Qingqiu asks the latter what happened. Luo Binghe claims that Meng Mo wasn't powerful enough to keep him locked in his dreams for long, but Shen Qingqiu knows what really happened because of his knowledge of the novel's plot.
Shen Qingqiu: [thinking] You think I didn't read the novel?
  • Catapult Nightmare: As soon as Shen Qingqiu is able to wake up from his dream of suffering the original Shen Qingqiu's Fate Worse than Death, he quickly gets off the bed and heaves his guts out.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: While low-key, Luo Binghe doesn't seem to fond about the attention he thinks Shen Qingqiu is giving Liu Mingyan, so he approaches her and subtly tells her to keep her attention on anything or anyone else that is not his teacher.
  • Epic Fail: Ming Fan is eliminated from the competition seconds after he enters the arena. Shen Qingqiu even hides his face in embarrassment when the other cultivators question who got kicked out.
  • Insult Backfire: While snarking about how Shen Qingqiu seems so spoiled, Qi Qingqi sarcastically remarks if Shen Qingqiu also needs someone carrying snacks for him. This only reminds Shen Qingqiu that he's feeling peckish and asks Luo Binghe for snacks, which he eats with gusto.
  • Jump Scare: Shen Qingqiu gets one in-universe when he and Luo Binghe meet again after waking up, and Shen Qingqiu briefly sees the original Luo Binghe instead of the younger and more innocent Binghe.
  • Shipper on Deck: While heading to the Huan Hua Palace Sect, Shen Qingqiu looks for Liu Mingyan in the hopes that Luo Binghe would talk to her and eventually start a romance with her. When he sees them "talking", he gets excited.
  • Shout-Out: While it could be unintentional, it's hard not to look at Shen Qingqiu's snacks and not be reminded of the Xbox logo.
