Shen Qingqiu sees fragments of Luo Binghe's past. After escaping the dream realm, Luo Binghe encounters the demon responsible for tampering with his dreams.

  • ...And That Little Boy Was Me: Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe chase after the first person they see who has a face, but it takes a while later for them to figure out that the person is actually a young Luo Binghe.
  • Call-Back: In Shen Qingqiu's nightmare, Luo Binghe repeats the same words he said to Shen Qingqiu during Shen Yuan's Imagine Spot from Episode 1, but this time his words are said with more ferocity and anger.
  • Foreshadowing: A savvy viewer can tell that something's off when Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe seemed to have escaped the dream realm that Meng Mo conjured. For one, Shen Qingqiu is seen in his usual wardrobe instead of his night robes, and Luo Binghe wakes up in Shen Yuan's quarters for some reason when it would be unlikely that he slept there.
  • Kids Are Cruel: Luo Binghe is treated like dirt by the young masters of the household he and his mother work at.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Luo Binghe snaps out of his rage when he unintentionally hurts Shen Qingqiu, causing him to break Meng Mo's barrier and wake up.
  • Nightmare Sequence: Shen Qingqiu has one in the end about suffering Shen Qingqiu's fate and being faced with Luo Binghe, who has every intention to torture him for the abuse he suffered.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: While he normally acts stern and somewhat aloof with Luo Binghe as part of his act as Shen Qingqiu, after they escape from Meng Mo's barrier, Shen Qingqiu acts completely gentle and reassuring towards Luo Binghe, especially since he just personally witnessed how much of a hard life Luo Binghe had lived.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Seeing the horrible memories of his past, which is capped off with the memory of his bullies making him lose the last thing he had of his adoptive mother, makes Luo Binghe snap and repeatedly attack the illusions in his dreams.
  • Taking the Bullet: Knowing that Luo Binghe is making things worse by attacking the visions in his dreamscape, Shen Qingqiu snaps Luo Binghe out of his anger-induced breakdown by taking a hard hit from him.
  • Troubled Backstory Flashback: Even though Luo Binghe is faring a lot better now than he had under the original Shen Qingqiu, that doesn't mean that he quickly let go of all the other pains that he endured in his past. When he sees his memories of how he was viciously bullied and of his adoptive mother's death, he gets angrier and angrier before finally lashing out.
