Milo has lost in a board game to Wendell - and it was The Great Quantum Vigilante Trivia Challenge! As a result, Milo's self-confidence is severely shaken. He now questions his ability to do anything! Just then - a kid in trouble! It's Otto who called, and his problem is something the Captain has never faced before - a ghost! And she’s even got a name – Scary Mary!

Tropes in this episode:

  • The Bet: Wendell does a bet to Milo that if he win the Quantum Vigilante trivia game, he will get bragging rights but if he loses, Wendell will take away all of his Quantum Vigilante stuff out of his room. Although he solved all of the trivia questions correctly, he forgets one of the answers for one question (the question being "How did Quantum Vigilante meet the Deadly Specter in the Mirrors of Menace?"), causing him to lose all of his Quantum Vigilante stuff in the process.
  • Didn't Think This Through: To stop Scary Mary, Milo was going to use the Quantum Vigilante ion squasher as he conjured the Specter by zapping him. Turns out that Wendell has it as well as the rest of his Quantum Vigilante stuff as a result of losing the bet so he, Lizbeth and Otto decided to go to Wendell's house to retrieve his stuff back. The only way to let him retrieve it back is to answer another Quantum Vigilante trivia question about describing the Schrodinger equation, which he still doesn't know the answer.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: After Scary Mary's mirror boss tells her that she only has one more chance to scare somebody or else she has to stay in Otto's room forever, as well as for defeating Wendell, Milo uses his "Bird Brain" as he and the ghost both lack confidence, so both of their problems are related to each other. So he decided to team up with Scary Mary and gives her chains and a voice changer set to horror movie mode, by answering trivia questions to Wendell on what will happen if kids have bad sportsmanship and who think they're better than everyone else, which getting scared by a ghost will happen, scaring him badly out of his room.
  • Mirror Monster: If you say her name three times while looking in a mirror, Scary Mary will appear in your room and will scare you.
  • Real After All: Although Milo tells his parents during breakfast the next day that the events of this episode was All Just a Dream, Aunt Tildie arrives at the Powell's giving Milo back his Quantum Vigilante stuff since it gives Wendell nightmares, much to his rejoice. He then questions if the events were actually real and it turns out that after seeing Scary Mary in his mirror, it really did happen which confuses the Narrator as the episode closes.
Narrator: Okay, wait, I'm confused. Was there really a ghost here, I mean, it seemed like it, but then... Ah, who cares? Milo got his stuff back, right?
  • Sleepwalking: After Milo uses his Ecto-blaster to shoot out slime on a "ghost" thinking it was Scary Mary, it was revealed that it was just Otto sleepwalking with his blanket inside him since after reading a book about Scary Mary, it makes him feel anxious.
  • Speak of the Devil: Milo realized that the answer to the trivia question that he forgot to answer to it during Wendell's bet, was that Quantum Vigilante meets the Specter by saying his name three times in front of a mirror. Otto then realizes that Scary Mary never actually been to his room anyway to scare him which Milo replies that she will only come if he says her name three times in a mirror. Unfortunately, Milo did just that, causing her to come out of the mirror and scaring them.

Lizbeth wonders if she can still be the Captain’s birdbrain if she’s not talking to him? Max tells them that he’s in a fight with Owen-Only but he accidentally left a board game at Owen’s house. Milo and Lizbeth don’t get what the big deal is but Max explains: it’s not just any board game. It’s the kind that becomes real!

Milo: Max, can you tell Lizbeth to stop breathing on me?
Max: Um, Captain? It's not Lizbeth.
[A lion appears growling near Milo]
Narrator: Your darn-tootin' that's not Lizbeth, unless she's turned into a huge kid-eating beast.
[Lizbeth then madly appears, looking at him]
Narrator: No? Too bad. Well, maybe if we just close our eyes, it'll, it'll all go away, huh? Let's try it.
[The Narrator closes his eyes, which then to black]
  • Ordered Apology: Milo demands to Max and Owen to apologize to each other as they are the ones that got into this mess in the first place, due to them fighting over a cursed board game that is alive.

  • Suddenly Shouting: Upon Lizbeth finding out that she's demoted as an extra in Milo's comic:
Lizbeth: How come I'm not in the mission part?
Milo: Ha! Yeah, that's a pretty funny idea, but why would you be?
Lizbeth: I CAN NOT BELIEVE, AFTER EVERYTHING I'VE GET! YOU ARE THE MOST INCONSIDERATE, SQUARE-SHAPED BOY IN THE WHOLE WORLD AND I'M NEVER SPEAKING TO YOU, EVER AGAIN!!
    Milo: Huh?
    Lizbeth: And your comic's lame.
